Overview:
Originally scrapped as man took to the stars the wet navy was considered a thing of the past. In recent years with worlds consisting of mostly water these planets have decided to bring these navies back as a alternate meanes to defent their worlds. It soon became apparent that the designs avaliable at the time were inadequate to fulfill the job of defending the world form a pirate assult let a lone a full raid force. With new technologies recentely rediscovered a wet naval yard has recently started to tackle this problem.
Capabilities:
The Destroyer is designed to deal damage at max range and quickely destroy any target it aquires. Mounting 6 Charged erppc's the destroyer class of naval ships is aptly prepared to do that. The original design called for the devestating heavy guass rifles paired with standard Guass rifles. Due to negotiation breakdowns and the lack of decent ammo stored the design was refitted with the Erppc's with the ppc capacitor to up the damage the weapons heat required the addition of 2 coolant pods. 3 of these were fixed to the bow and 3 are used in a Turret with a full 360 firing arch. Added fire power comes in the form of 2 Lrm 15's and 2 Srm 6 missle launcehers for close in support, 1 Srm 6 and 1 Lrm 15 are fixed to both the Port and Starbord sides of the vessel. The Stearn is fixed with a Srm 6 Torpedo Launcher. This was added as a after thought and a varient is being considered that removes the torpedo launcher and replaces it with a standard Srm 6 launcher. For defencive purposes the Destroyer Class mounts 29 tons of heavy Ferro Fibrous armor for massive protection. The bow of the vesel alone mounts 7 tons of armor. To further enhance the defence of the slow moving craft 6 Laser Anti- Missile systems were added 2 bow, 1 stern, port, starboard and one in the turret. The additions of the C(3) slave and Master computers is so the unit can coordinate with the remaning fleet and any other friendly assets in the area. To also help the slow craft to defend itsself the designers added a medium sized HQ. The reasoning was if the crew knows whats going on they can better defend themselves and the planet they are protecting. The biggest drawback has been the price tag on the wet navy. Though highly capable they are even more expencive than the most expencive Battle mechs. The Destroyers start at 75 million c-bills and are nessary to have in groups as their speed is just to slow to be the only defender in the area.
Deployment
Currentely the destroyers have only seen action against simulations, Though succesful with the fleet only a few worlds have come forward to begin negotiations for a fleet. And as such the units are only built as the demand for them is required.

Notes: With the 4 ton Mobil Hq added to it it recives a +1 Initiative. Alo I think it is light Heatsinks but I cant get The Vehicle Factory to add more to it (shrug). And since negotiations are not going well with my wife I haent gotten HMPro yet. But I will dammit and ill remake them.
Hehe I thought they might be fun to fool around with. I have noticed though that with the fleet I have made so far I think a fleet of 16 vessels could easily defend a world against 3 companies of Mechs. I just with my wife would let me get the HMPro Plus so I can get a good version of it made. I am not to happy with the Vehicle factory but it is doing the job till I can get the good version .

The torps are worthless...they can only be fired while under water and they won't be on a surface ship

Ahhh now see I did not know that. Altho I now seem to remember that. I had actuallyconsidered them as being submerged below that water line. But I doubt that would pass as legal now that i really think about it.
Well keep the comments comming. Just curious to see what everyone thinks of this.

There's no reason to have a C3 slave and Master on the same unit...

...and you can only use 1 TAG per turn so why have two?

...and HMPro doesn't do vehicles, HMVee does. So you'll really need HMPlus, which contains both programs and HMLite (protos & infantry).

Well The tags are one per side to reduce the weight of the turret. I decided on both of the c3 units as a reduntant system. And to take up some weight. The nose actually dosent register over 118 points of armor.

Your C3 slave is incompatable with the network your C3 Master runs
And what does a PPC capacitor actually do?

PPC capacitors up the damage done by IS erpps to 15 instead of 10 but they raise the heat to 20 instead of 15.
Example:
ER PPC 15 Heat 10 Damage
ER PPC + Capacitor 20 Heat 15 Damage

| You are in error you can use torps on a surface ship all that is required is that the target be in the water so that submarines mechs moveing on the bottom or surface ships with displacement hulls can all be targeted and the launchers can be either deck mounted or mounted in underwater tubes as in real life ,referance just about any 20th century Warship class

A PPC Capacitator takes one turn to charge up, during which you can't fire the PPC. It also generates an extra five heat points every round it's charged. You may choose to fire the weapon for normal damage or discharge the capacitator for an extra five points of damage. Obviously your opponent will want you to declare this before rolling to hit Then you need another round for charging it up again.
The thing is useful for sniper mechs and such, but useless IMO for anything that must fight for longer than a one-round ambush. I'd rather do a ten-point hit every round than a fifteen-pointer every other round.

I'd just go with Arrow IV systems on the big ships, then build a host of small ships with TAG systems.

Real world does not equal Battletech...as placed on his ship they are worthless in the Battletech universe, which is what my comment is based on.

funny, i always assumed that torps could be mounted on surface ships and still fire under water. kinda like sub doors while running on the surface. who knew!
