==Overview:==
The brain child of NAIS scientists the Warthog is a testbed for new technology discovered at the renowned research facility the Warthog's 6 prototypes are due to enter test stages in the summer of 68'. Opponets to the design cite heavy cost over runs and the units over all heafty price tag as reasons to scrap the project. Supporters of the design have proven the units worth in simulations under various battle conditions. The unit also highlights the NAIS's ability to now re-engineer clan weapons in all aspects, with the slow production time of the weapons their use will be limited until production can be stepped up.
==Capabilities:==
Fast and jump capable the Warthog is a very dangerous opponet on the battle field. Utilizing new technology the Warthog mounts 4 ER Med lasers produced at the facility with the same damage characteristics as their Clan counterparts. Mounting 2 of the brand new Avenger Cannons which have alarming hitting power at extream ranges, the mech can deal with most threats quickely. Tied to a targeting computer and a Improved C3 computer help the unit dispose of aggressors quickely. A Guardian ECM rounds out the mechs impressive electronics package.
==Variants:==
The Avenger cannons are recreations of a ancient Terra design used during the latter half of the 20th century on a aircraft know as the Warthog, The name was passed on to the new mech as a tribute to the new machines ancestor.
Originally mounted on aircraft the Avenger class cannon was one of the more feared weapons of the skies. Decommisioned in late 2015 the Warthog was scrapped infavor of faster airframes. A student of NAIS was on a vacation to Terra when he went to a ancient flight museum and was taken with the Warthog's appearance and battle history, deciding that is original major of Military History could be put to good use the soon started to branch off in to military weapons design, his first project was to duplicate the Avenger and ammunition used for it and see how it worked for Battlemechs. The results were frightening. Shortly after his initial sucesses the project was immediatly labeled "TOP SECRET" and was fully funded by the school. Shortly after graduating with honors he was moved to a full time position at NAIS in the weapons department.
GAME NOTES:
The Avenger is a hard hitting long range weapon that gobbels up ammunition at an alarming rate. Due to the volital nature of the ammo and the amount of rounds held in the bays the ammo is INCOMPATIBLE WITH CASE OR CASE 2. When figuring damage use the Missile hits table and roll on the 10 and 15 colum and mark damage in 5 point clusters as you would with missiles. Criticals to the weapon have a chance to set off the ammo feed system thus destroying the weapon outright. Roll on the crit chart as normal, if hit roll 2d6 rolls of 10 or more set off an ammo explosion, caculate damage as normal.

Its a weapon I have been tinkering with. I know I will open a can o'wurms with this but I have long considered the autocannons as artillery more than machine guns, i.e. AC-2 = AAA battery, AC-5 = Abrahms tank cannon, AC-10 = current Artillery piece, and the AC-20 the equilivent to a 15 inch Battleship cannon. I always figured the reduced ranges on the heavy autocannons was due to needing smaller shells that fit in the mech's feed system. I know this is my personal feel on them and I figure that that is going to cause some somments, but I just thinks its more realistic having it this way then trying to say their giant machine guns with no range.
So anyway let me know what you think. Is it munchie is it ok with it working as a lrm battery for damage I think it is powerful but not over powering (havent tested it yet so well have to see).

I'm not sure if you mentioned this but adding a possiblity for the weapon jamming would be a good idea.
