Hey all, just decided to stop in and see what is going on. I was hoping someone could bring me up to date on the current storyline for Dark Age and find out if there are ever going to be anymore storylines for the classic universe.
Anyways, good to see you all!

Well, it sounds as though a lot has changed. I gotta say, the new boards look awesome. This is probably the best looking EZ Board style forum I've ever seen.
BTW, I saw the new Dark Age action figures, the big ones, and though the designs are kinda blah, the figures are cool.

The "shell" is a basic php 1.x forum, but Mordel has heavily modified it. You won't find another like it anywhere

Well, a basic phpBB 1.x shell. And yes, I have modified it so heavily I can't even consider upgrading. Now if I see a new feature of 2.0 I like, I write the code myself to get it in there.

Since you requested...
Towards the end of 3067, something major happens (possibly due to the dissolution of the second Star League), and the Word of Blake set off a massive Jihad. The Jihad begins with an assault on the world of Outreach, where the Word of Blake WarShip fleet takes out the Wolf's Dragoons fleet as the Dragoons and others are being attacked onworld by various merc and possibly WoB forces. One of the continents of the worlds is nuked, while the other is orbitally bombarded. Few of the Dragoons on world escape, and Jaime Wolf is killed in combat, defending his people to the last as they escape.
No one has seen this coming...and it only gets worse.
Each of the Inner Sphere Successor House capitals are attacked, and apparently alot of the HPG grid goes down. We know that ALL contact with Tharkad is lost eventually (even by JumpShip in the system), Luthien has to be pretty much abandoned for some time, and that Atreus is razed (one of the last messages to get out among the Free Worlds League is that Thomas Marik is an imposter, and that Atreus has been demolished). Things only get worse for the Inner Sphere, as WoB forces, and those allies they have gathered begin major terror tactics and assaults on worlds throughout the Sphere...world after world is nuked, gassed and poisoned...this is warfare on a scale never before seen in human history. For an idea of the scale of this, take a look at the cover to the Combat Operations Sourcebook, which can be found here
http://www.classicbattletech.com/Illustrations/CombatOperationsCover800x600.jpg
(note: This is the Battle of Skye...as you might can tell, Wolf and Lyran forces joined together to fight the Blakists)
Unit after unit is totally obliterated (the Knights of the Inner Sphere are gassed, and those few who survive are killed in a followup attack, the FedSuns Armored Cavalry and a Capellan unit they are fighting are bombarded from orbit by a WoB WarShip, the survivors of Little Richard's Panzer Brigade are killed to the last man, etc.). Tamar is apparently razed in the "Scouring of Tamar". A THIRD Battle of New Avalon is held (debate still rages over the meaning of this), etc....This goes on for years until one man appears and begins to gather followers to his command...this man is named Devlin Stone.
An escaped prisoner of the WoB prison camp on Kittery, Stone is aided by David Lear, the son of Kai Allard-Liao. The pair begin to gather soldiers to fight back against the WoB, and join with Victor Davion, Peter Steiner, Hohiro Kurita, etc. to annihilate WoB forces once and for all.
They do so, but at an extreme cost. Never before have so many died. The Ghost Bears, who set aside their differences with the Combine and the Nova Cats to fight side by side with them to free Combine worlds after first securing their own, still recall one of their Galaxies that fought off the Blakists, only to all be killed when the WoB detonated a neutron bomb in retalliation. Numerous portions of Earth were nuked as they entered into the final battle. And House Liao still bears a grudge against the rest of the Inner Sphere, as the rest thought they were with the Blakists, forcing them to stand alone against the Jihad, making them nuke their own worlds to send a message to the Blakists.
Also during and after the Jihad, numerous other invasions and border skirmishes took place. The Hell's Horses returned to the Sphere, taking numerous worlds from the Crusader Wolves and the Jade Falcons. The Bears, who have taken the rest of the Rasalhagian worlds and formed the Rasalhague Dominion as a true union of Clan and Inner Sphere nations, took more worlds from the Combine. The FedSuns and the Combine have traded numerous worlds (though the Combine appears to have won more than they have lost). The Snow Ravens have allied with the Outworlds Alliance, creating the Raven Alliance, which has apparently taken numerous worlds from both the Suns and Combine. The Filtvelt worlds have split from the Suns to form the Filtvelt Coalition. House Liao and House Davion have had wars (such as the Victoria War), in which both have lost worlds to the other (though it looks like the Capellans have taken slightly more than they have lost). The Taurians have taken and lost worlds to the Suns. The Taurians have also had a civil war, splitting the nation in two (the Taurian Concordant and the Calderon Protectorate). The Fronc Reaches seem to have gained their independence, while the Magistry of Canopus and House Liao have taken worlds from the Free Worlds League. The Marion Hegemoney has lost the Lothian League worlds, but seems to have taken two worlds from the Circinus Confederation (which no longer exists), as well as worlds from the Free Worlds League, which has splintered, with its subcomponents once again gaining independent rule, with only a slight overgovernment presence with 3 Captains-General. House Steiner has taken worlds from the Free Worlds League, while losing additional worlds to both the Falcons and the Crusader Wolves...The Combine, FedSuns and Commonwealth have all lost Periphery worlds...the Horses and Falcons join together to push out the Ice Hellions when they attempt to invade, and all Clans in the Inner Sphere lost contact with the Clan Homeworlds due to some thus far unknown cause...
And all Inner Sphere great Houses have lost worlds (whether given or taken by force) to Stone's grand experiment, the Republic of the Sphere...where he sought to promote peace and harmony by removing BattleMechs and other weapons of war from the hands of the common citizen (when they gave up these weapons, they gained citizenship for themselves in the Republic), and forcing people of the different Houses to relocate to the worlds of their former enemies. The relative peace (there are still border skirmishes and the like, but no major wars like before) has lasted for decades...until 80% of the HPG grid mysteriously goes down...
And the Dark Age begins...
For more info, you might try going to the Comstar INN website. It provides a map of the Republic of the Sphere, with details on each world (although not all have been posted as yet) in the Republic, and primers on the history and current status of much of the Sphere (more are detailed each month...currently, we should be on the second installment (of four) for the Lyran Commonwealth)...the site can be found at

If you have any further questions, just ask...I will answer them if able...

Sweet...fraggin'...mother...
Lord, Ruger, I think you could have just said "Things went to hell in a nuclear handbasket!" and that would have summed it up.
I had no idea that WoB went that nucking futs. That's all just depressing. I can't believe it was that huge and wide spread. I just sorta figured that after the FedCom civil war, things just simmered down and got all peaceful and such. Man...

It's just hard to stomach such wide spread usage of nuclear weapons in a universe where I don't believe I've ever seen them used (at least not since I've been following). It's almost funny how the Blakists became terrorists and started a Jihad, especially considering how things have gone in the real world over the last couple of years.

Um...dude...The Red Corsair incident of the mid 3050s...the fighting on Gibson in Ideal War...the First and Second Succession Wars...the FedCom Civil War...ALL had nukes involved...
And as for the Blakists...they are the worst parts of the original Comstar...and the original Comstar was all about terror in many ways...
Ever see the Sixth Sense? This thing has been building for over a decade...the clues have all been there for at least that long...it's just that no one has put them together before now...the Blakists didn't just become terrorists...they, especially the Toyoma faction, ALWAYS HAVE BEEN TERRORISTS...
And they were such LONG BEFORE 9-11...

Hmm...an update and possible explanation for the loss of contact with Tharkad during the Jihad's opening days...
The latest installment of Touring the Sphere on the Comstar INN site reveals that the city-sized fusion plant beneath Tharkad City lost containment and went into meltdown just as the Blakists were invading...every man, woman and child that survived had to be evacuated from a 150km around the site...
Although thought at first to be an act of a WoB saboteur, later studies revealed it was just bad timing...
"Today, over sixty years and billions of kroner later, the last scars of the Jihad are only now being obliterated, save for the massive crater dug into the frozen, glassy earth to remove the remains of the ruined reactor. As if memorializing the most heroic phase of the reconstruction, the crater remains a testament to the brave DropShip crews who sacrificed themselves to pull the radioactive material from their beloved capital world and send it hurtling into space."

I knew I was behind the times but, I've been in a cave or something...Oh yea, mundane Life... I never heard of any of it. I thought the Jihad was a FanFic.... What books is this info in??? Must catch up, Must destroy WoB.... Or a reasonable facsimile thereof....
And here I thought Kali was nuttier than the friut cake.....

Well, other than some hints and some short stories, no sourcebook has info on the Jihad yet, as they have not been written...the Comstar INN website I listed before has most of the info, and you can also glean some additional stuff from the dossier cards that come with each unique figure from MWDA boosters...these dossiers can be found (at least for the older uniques and limited editions) on WizKids's MechWarrior Dark Age site...

Guess I shouldn't mention then that the WoB is in contact with her, or that she is currently entertaining a Davion general at her "prison" then, should I?

Kali? who? huh?
As for the Jihad, I kind of saw it coming when WOB to Terra, and then years later were invited to protect worlds in the Chaos March from House Liao

Actually, despite being the fact that we (The Federated Suns) have lost so much, I'm still thinking I wouldn't mind too much a story in the new universe. One rumour though, really bothers me. I hope you can put it to rest, though if you can't, I can understand.
The most disturbing thing I've heard is that the Davion family line has been wiped out. That's depressing. It's not true right? (At least, I really hope it's not true.)
