==Overview:==
This version of the Clint represents another attempt at a minimalist upgrade.
The Clint's main problem is its thin armor; the armor was sacrificed to make
the unit faster. Two steps were taken to correct this. The first was the
installation of Ferro-Fiberous armor (which can be installed in the field) and
the second was the trading out of the AC/5 for a PPC. The trade-out thus
allowed two more tons for armor.
The PPC/AC tradeout also has some advantages as well. The mech now can do more
damage and at longer ranges. In addition, being entirely energy-driven now
means that the unit can operate in the field longer. Plus the trade-off means
that the pilot has no ammo to worry about. The downside, however, is that the
PPC's minimum ranges means that the pilot must be careful of how close the
targets are.
Heat for the unit was managed by trading out the original single heat sinks
with DHS. Otherwise, jumping and firing the PPC would rapidly drive the heat
up.
Granted, I know that the PPC will most likely be hard to alter in the field.
However, IMHO it's a good trade-off.

I like it. I have always liked the Clint. But I hate ammo on light mechs (and most others for that matter) since without case they are just one golden beebee away from total fireball.

I never liked the Clint. This variant is better than the original, but still bad. Use the FF armor and PPC money for upgrading a real mech instead, like a Phoenix Hawk. Sell the Clint to a museum.
