Right, so the revised TRO: 3025 was released with all of the Star League 'mechs, for which we now have lvl1 stats. My question: How do you people use them?
Are they used still as ComStar 'mechs? (ie: as mystery raiders in scenarios, etc)
Or as lostech machines which are refitted with contemporary stuff?
Or as the new fluff states. So the Black Knight is now an Ostman 'mech, etc, and they are all relatively easy to obtain.
The latter however goes against facts we learnt in the books (Warrior trilogy, Charette-Kurita books on the 3039 war, etc....).
I'm including a poll, but please post own opinions / experiences! _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

I'll keep my old fluff, thank you. Nothing wrong with making the refits more common, but I have no need to replace anything with them.

Depends on when I am running my game. If it is 3025 then Comstar Mystery Mech, with old tech. As we move into 3050 then they are some of teh first to have new tech. I have thown them out with the 2750 numbers. And as the years roll by, common mechs that can be had by all. Part of the reason is I run an alternate Btech universe and that fits. ALso I like some of the 3025 versions of 2750 mechs, Hitman, Mongoose, Crab, Kinatro, Thug.
AWAD- Love the first LB-10X surprise

As some have noticed I 'like' some of the more famous machines.( someday I WILL finialy get Yen-lo-wang or die trying....proably die )so I use the 'mystery" mech a lot ( give the sheet/config and the mini for those who actualy get it too.) been even thinking of a 'lost' regiment of Mackie's coming up but don't have enough mini's ready yet. ( I know a guy at a place called American Seating that makes them in their foundry) and haven't fingered out a good reason/idea of/how to do it. maybe by the holidays I'll have somthing......

I think there is no one answer to how common they are. According to the fluff, some are in production (or were in production relatively recently, it's not always clear), but others are probably just refits and are relatively rare.

I have a fourth answer: I don't use them at all. They're abominations. Comstar always had the 2750 designs...if they needed something that wasn't obviously Comstar, or if they were concerned about taking losses and having Star League salvage fall into the hands of the Successor Lords, Comstar would deploy 3025 'mechs like everyone else.

Well it's good to see somethings never change. mud's still as tactful as ever...
I've only used them twice and they were the mystery force, that nearly wiped out the force that was sent in after them....
