==Overview:==
The Seagull is another first from Jalastar Aerospace: an Inner Sphere
Omni-Aerofighter. The Seagull, despite its armor and speed, still has 23 tons
of pod space for its size. This allows it to be very versitile.
The primary mode has twin LB-5X units, mounted to test the feasibility of
using them on aerospace units. Three tons of ammo back up the weapons. Four
medium lasers, one of which is aft-mounted, provides considerable firepower
once the guns run dry.

This is based off of a fighter/bomber concept that I thought up a few years ago. I just simply updated it and posted it here.
The name Seagull is an in-joke with regards to it being a fighter/bomber.

The dual LB-5Xs do not give it much whap in combat, how about dropping on and putting in an LL or PPC.

| I bet ya this is a referance to the Curtiss SOC Seagull two-seat scout/observation aircraft. It was the last of the Curtiss biplanes to be used operationaly by the US Navy .It was used from 1935 to early in WWII.

Like I said; this is a feasibility test. Next week if I can free up some time I'll cook up a few variants.

this thing will rip up other fighters in a dog fight. dosen't have straight raw power, but will disable its target in only a few shots. like mounting a flak gun in a ME-109 lol.

I surely hope the variants make more sense. As in better balance between guns and heat dissipation. You've got 19 double heat sinks on that fighter chassis, and the prototype configuration doesn't need them.
The LB-X ACs are a nice touch in fighting other ASFs, though. Even more useful if you go after VTOLs on ground support missions.

I thought his design was a big shy on weight but I didn't look close enough to see the extra sinks. By the look of things he is planning on making the majority of the configurations energy heavy.
The LB-Xs will work well in atmospheric dogfights in disabling and ripping up your foes but for the space battles I don't think they will be worth it, especailly against energy armed fighters or SRM equiped.

Actually, the heat sinks were a fluke; I wasn't paying attention when I saved the design. But yeah I can do some energy-heavy units.

Well, the chassis has room for a few ER PPCs or ER Large Lasers. 16+3=19 tons, if you don't remove the MLs. Two wing-mounted ER PPCs and a nose-mounted ER LL? Three Er LLs and a SRM-4?

Save one LB and replace the other with energy. Cover all of your bases.....
