Can you trade initiative with another player?
At the Monte, My Enfeild was paired with the Sagittiare. It was a sound stratgy. But it would only work if the Sag fired before me. It was with shear luck that it happened that way.But if it had not been so. If I got the initiative before the Sag. Could we have traded?
I looked in the rules. And there is no mention of it.
It would make sense gamewise. If I have commucation with the other mech. Or if the pilot was instructed to fire after the mech he was paired with. And if he had LOS with that mech. Should the not be able trade?
What do you think?

Technically fire is simultaneous. So in theory there can't be any swapping. The way it's usually played is people go in order. But to be real strict one could force players to write the weapons they will fire on a sheet before firing begins. Most people don't care however at cons and stuff since it's only for fun, or the firing is done in a certain order for a reason. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

The official rules say that weapons fire is declared just like initiative, with the team losing initiative declaring fire for one of their mechs first.
The BMR has all of the correct procedures listed.

According to the BMR and rBMR, no--the "loser" must move first.

Many people don't know of that rule, they simply presume that the winner decides who goes first.

That's right, there are a some other games where you can seize the initiative.Meaning you win,and opponent must move first, but at any time you may move first if it suits you. I remember the Marvel Super Heroes RPG had it and a few more that I can't recall.
In BTech however this is not the case. _________________ "I have lived my life trying to be a virtuous man. The Dragon admires tenacity, and the code of the samurai upholds it as well." -Minobu Tetsuhara
