Wow that is one of thoes cases where you yell "HOLY S&$T " then. You do it. Great picture and actually my favorite animal on the planet. Something about a animal that is unchanged in 3million + years. That is a big one to its refreshing you dont see to many that size anymore. I would guess its a great white but there is really no way to tell.

probably a tiger or nurse, I think the graet whites prefer DEEP water. A Mako would be quite a bit bigger than that.
I played in the food chain in California and Hawaii, until I got a nasty infection from coral on my back. The USMC cured the infection. the pain ruined the fun of surfing, 2 weeks in IV antibiotics is NO fun.

Generally whites prefer prefer deeper but have been known to swim near shor if hunting. It also depends on where the photo was taken. it looks to big to be a mako. But the Tiger is a possiblility, I would just hope they got everyone out of the water shortly as the tiger tends to be the most dangerous of sharks from what I have read.

It has a very small Dorsal Fin, so I think that the Great White and Mako are out.
Marine Biology was a long time ago....

Yeah I set the pic as my desktop. And I keep seeing some sort of dolphin (not sure why) but if you follow the silhouette down along the body to the tail fin the fin actually looks like it is a dolphins (flat) where as the sharks is vertical. But when you look at the head it has the shark look to it. But stiil it a great picture.
