I like Gray Death Legion because it is one of the strongest mercenary commands in the Inner Sphere. As tightly knit as the Northwind Highlanders and capable of showing the same steely toughness as the Kell Hounds or Wolf's Dragoons, the Legion has fought and won campaigns that would have destroyed lesser commands.

I am proud to be an Ice Hellion.the Ice Hellions use fast mobile mechs with plenty of close Air support.The Ice Hellions are third behind the Snow Ravens and Cloud Cobras in Aerospace.Generally Ice Hellion ground forces are considerably faster than the other clans.

I've always been a fan of the Free Worlds League. Sure, they've had more wars because of internal strife than anything else, but they are still my favorite. Something about the Knights of the Inner Sphere just drew me to them.

Iused in my first mercenary campaign
the Anphigean Light assault group
even if was just a name cause my
company had nothing to do with
it was lomg time ago and doesn't exist
yet no field manual.

House Steiner, of course. They seem to be the only major faction that isn't obsessed with war and control. Or perhaps their propaganda department is better than many! The Germanic imagery is also appealing.
My favorite clan has got to be the Smoked Jaguars.Why? Because they're recently extinct.

Ah, The Capellan Confederation. They do what it takes to win, and make no apologies for it. Everyone hates them for that reason, making them more appealing to me. Plus Sun Tzu is the best ruler in the IS....

My favorite faction should be obvious...look left...

Overall, I like Comstar. None of the writers ever did much with them, but they have so much potential. They should be played up with kind of a Bene Gesserit/Spacer's Guild kind of feel; lots of mystic obscurantism combined with mysterious disappearances.
Among the Clans my favorite faction is the Jade Falcons (duh). I like their 'mechs for the most part (except for the Black Lanner), and their style of combining good speed with heavy firepower. I also like what Robert Thurston did for them in the Jade Phoenix Trilogy, which was my original reason for becoming a Jade Falcon player.
Some of the other Clans are pretty cool as well; Goliath Scorpion seems pretty interesting. They're a bit of a departure of the whole "war for the sake of war" clan attitude.
Among Inner Sphere powers, I like the Principality of Regulus and the First Regulan Hussars. Any regiment capable of maintaining a first-class elite status during the 3050s using only level one technology for the most part is worthy of respect. Down with the Marik oppressors! Kurita is pretty cool too; they've got the best story writing of all the Inner Sphere powers. Liao, Davion, and Steiner all have potential in spades, but the execution was never there.
As for independent Mercenary units, Cranston's Snord's Irregulars were always to my taste. Maybe the Regulans should seek out the services of this fine company; they both share an anomosity towards the Marik family.
