Okay of the two which is going to be the one that comes out the winner?
Same terrian as the other fights...
Urban with some woods.
Rolling hills with light woods...
Same skills for both.
Thoughts?

I would have to go for the Lancelot, always done better for me, the energy loadout can get a little bit hot though. But in a close environment it has the advantage, in an open area its larger weapon systems also give it good range.
One point for lancelot!

The Xl engine is a major fault in the Griffin... The Lancelot would be able to take it and give more back...
And would win...

They both mount XL engines.
The Lancelot moves faster than the Griffin but the Griffin jumps. The Griffin has better long range damage p[otential but has to maintain ammo for half it's long range weapons. The Lancelot Has no ammo using weapons at all but easily overheats if not careful. The Griffin acan fire everything and do a full jump and still doesn't generate enough heat to break even. Armor is same in tonnage but the Lancelot has more in the back meaning the Griffin has more in the front. All in all it would depend on the roll of the dice and the decisions of the pilots. Personally I would go for the Griffin as I have yet to register a kill piloting a Lancelot. I think the jumpjets of the griffin would allow it to maintain it's distance to keep it's LRM's a viable weapon until he runs out of ammo. The Lancelot should try to close and stay there and weather whatever missle the Griffin throws it's way and wear it down. hmm... a toughie. I'll go with the Griffin. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

I'd take the Griffin in the rolling hills, and the Lancealot in the city. Since the Griffin needs too much space to be an effective fighter.
Normally I'd take the Jump Capable mech in the city but this is a special case as the Griffin is all long range and isn't a knife fighter.
I'd say that the weapons combo the Griffin has is most likely to score a crit against the Lancealot but thats more because my dice have always been more "lucky" when I pilot the Griffin.
My 2.41 cents.

Griffin. The LRM 20 is the deciding factor here. Even in the city the Griffin can win if it can exploit long streets to create lines of fire. The Lancelot has to close in order to win, although it's long range firepower isn't bad, if it lets itself get drawn into a sniping match with an LRM 20 it's gonna loose.
