==Overview:==
Although not confirmed, rumors abound of a frightening Wasp variation
eminating from within the ranks of Clan Wolf-in-Exhile.
The mech, designated as the Wasp IIC for intelligence purposes, appears to
be loosely based on the WSP-3M model. However, the model has been rebuilt
using Clan tech, and as such provides enough tonnage for a radical alteration:
the trading up of the Medium Pulse Laser for an ER Large Laser and the
allowance of near-maximum armor while still maintaining the same speed.
No one knows for sure, but it would appear that the basic idea for this
model appears to be the desire to upgrade the Wasp from a recon/patrol unit
into a hunter/killer mech.
It should be noted, however, that the mech appears to have a heat
problem; even if the pilot holds still, there is insufficient heat sinks to
handle the waste heat from the laser. The apparent tactic for this machine,
based on trials, is as follows: The pilot snipes from a distance with the
Large, then uses the jets to move in and out of range while firing the SRMs.
==Variants:==
(What Comstar doesn't know is that this isn't a IIC; it's an Omni. The
version they have identified as the IIC is really the primary model.
Other models under consideration:
A - The Alpha model trades out the SRM and ammo for an ER Medium and an ER
Small. This model is for behind-the-lines combat.
B - The Bravo model has 3 LRM 5 racks (two in the right arm, one in the left),
two tons of ammo, and an ER Small Laser. This model is intended as a mobile
skirmisher.
C - The Charlie model has an Active Probe, and ECM, TAG, twin ER Mediums, and
an ER Small. This model is an electronics [aka Wild Weasel] platform.
D - The Delta model is similar to the Bravo model but has 3 SRM 4 racks in
place of the LRM 5 racks.)
