It's promotion time again folks, and you know what that means....
...someone better make sure the bathrooms are flushing properly, because the drinks are about to be consumed in vast quantities!
Woohoo! I made Captain! Drinks are on me, until the difference in paychecks is used up!
ooc: who'd a thunk that my post in the saloon about Kerry would bump me up for promotion? Now I can't say he's never done anything for me!

Nah, I'm just playing with the affiliations to see what rank is available at 500 posts. The FedSuns has the highest so far with Leftenant Colonel... but I'll probably stick with ComStar after I'm done playing.
What kind of drink can I get for you?

Oh, and did you know that for some reason, the Star Adders would give me Galaxy Commander for my experience, but the other clans are all the same with Star Colonel? The Clans sure do promote fast! On the other hand, the Royal Black Watch promotes slowly...

Over in the corner, the Fed-Sun corporal who is bucking for sergeant hears that the clans promote fast, but recent experience with a clan vulture via his "Port Aurthor Invasion Simulator"
OOC: That would be Mechcommander, and oldie but a goodie...
"Port Aurthor Invasion Simulator" tells him why. A 35 ton raven with a green pilot took on a Vulture at close range with a pair of lasers and killed it. Only cost a leg too.
And that is why the Clans promote so quickly. Their pilots are just that bad.
However, the corporal is bucking for sergeant, and that requires additional knowledge of the enemy.
"So, um, my Japaneese is a little shaky. I've got everything up to Sho-ko figured out, and I'm pretty sure that Taisho means something like 'General of the Army," at least there doesn't seem to be a higher rank... Could one of you snakes, I mean honorable Kuritans, explain the officer ranking to me? It will be really useful on my sergeant's exam."
OOC: OK, confession, the 20 year update only lists the enlisted ranks, but my Gamers want to play Kurita, so at the very least I need the equivalents of Captain and Lt.

The officer ranks of the Draconis Combine? I served there alongside some of them during Operation Bulldog. One of them even saved my life. I may be off, but this is teh way I remember the system.
from bottom to top:
Chu-i = Lieutenant
Tai-i = Captain
Sho-sa = Major
Chu-sa = Lieutenant Colonel
Tai-sa = Colonel
Sho-sho = Brigadier
Tai-sho = General
Warlord
Does this help, young corporal? Have you obtained wisdom? Or at least knowledge?
