All i have to work with is Enamel paints. They are really frustrating, they paint on well as an undercoat and for adding details. But they do not mix with water to make a wash orbrush lightly to create highlights. They tend to stick to the brush if used in very small amounts. They also take ages to dry properly. I've gone back to a model after four hours to apply the next layer and its completely smudged. So the insignia came out as a dark yellow blob with a mix of green where the camo had smudged as well. It completely wrecked the Atlas, it was looking great up to that point.
I was giving it a dark green camo with the old white-gray deaths head style like MW4.
I still keep a stock of enamels for my normal modelling use i.e Tamiya and so forth but I have started to replace all that with acrylics. These can be sourced from any gamesworkshop store so are easy to come by. Any model store should stock the Tamiya or Gunze Sangyo brands, also the Modelmaster range are excellent. Vallejo are probably the best but are hard to come by in the UK. Hannants based in Lowestoft stock all of these ranges and are available online. I really would recommend you switch from enamel to acrylics though for all the above reasons you stated in your message. 1 they are expensive in proportion to acrylics and most importantly not as versatile as acrylics. Acrylics also airbrush much better than enamels. _________________ "Thats the fastest race ever ran. But not as fast as the world record".
