Well, the old board, while very nice, was pretty slow. Plus it ate up a lot of space and bandwidth.
Another key factor was I am going away from CGI and switching to PHP. I can utilize it on my site and it is quite powerful, so I wanted to take advantage of it.

I have noticed a serious speed change, and I am dial up. If this board is like the other sample, it will only slow down when a thread has about 3-4 Hundred posts.

When a thread hits a number of posts that Mordel has set (might be 50, but he can choose any number) it generates a second page of posts.
So hopefully it will remain fast
