I found this name often mentioned in Project Phoenix.
Always involved in trade and contractation.
So where I could find something more ?
In Civil War maybe?

Project Phoenix

This is a link to the blurb for the Project Phoenix TRO, a back of the book thing, basicly. They say what Vicore is.

Essentially, Vicore is the company which is making all the new 'Mechs in Project Poenix. It isn't clear if they're building whole new 'Mechs or are modifying already existing 'Mechs. Since most have endo steel, and they didn't used to have endo steel, I'd assume that this Vicore Industries is making whole new 'Mechs. I don't have the TRO, so that's the best I can do.

It does seem strange though, that none of the other companies have complained about this Vicore Industries. I don't remember the others, but I know that General Motors BattleMechs makes the Marauder. GM just lets this Vicore build the Marauder, which they originally created? Seems unlikely, companies being what they are. Anyone know something about this?

they probably threatened the bosses of all the major companies in some way

In some cases, Vicore made deals with the companies of origin, either to produce in collaboration, or as seperate entities through licensing (IIRC)...it's no different from the companies that originally made the Enforcer or any of the newer OmniMechs first produced in the Combine licensing other companies to make them...

I'm starting to see a pattern here. All the problems in the world are caused by Victor Steiner-Davion and/or the Wobblies.

For some reason I completely failed to consider licensing and the like. It makes a lot more sense than trying to figure out how they stole all these designs. And since no one wants to waste time on these old designs as is, I suppose that they'd welcome the money that comes from licensing them to someone else.

Yep, licensing. Bringing in a majorly rehauled design and asking for a cut of the profit. Trading technology, shady deals, secret handshakes. The Word of Blake is somewhere in the background, at least on some designs. They seem to be buying an awful lot of mechs.

The new Locust was brought about by promising Corean that the WoB Militia would by the first year's production run.

Wobbies are an abomination to Our Blessed Order. Advance ComGuards !

In anycase, in BT, there is nothing money cannot buy maybe except expensive clantech and hardened clan warriors.

With enough cash, some underhand dealings or even having a little political powerplay can go a long way in getting whatever you need.

I'm pretty sure that enough cash can get you the first of the two.
You just need to know the right people.

Hardened Clan warriors come for free too. Just take them as bondsmen. Of course, you have to pay to get your regiment to the Clan front and equip it and all that, but that's more like shipping and handling charges. The Clanners themselves are free.

Like any respectable commander would employ technological abominations like vat-grown warriors? Execute the lot of them, I say.

There's enforcement problems as well.

Sure, it may violate GM's patent to build a Marauder, but how is GM to enforce it's patent rights on another planet?

Clan mechwarriors are far too valuable to execute. Any good Lyran should realize this.

Of course, lots of us Clanners realize this as well...the spartan Clan lifestyle looses it's charm once a freeborn is exposed to the decadence of the Inner Sphere

Hey, I only advocate killing the vat-grown monsters. The "normal" people can join us all they want.
