One of the minis me + Ronin have is a Starslayer, which was initially glued together over a year ago and then stored. Based on Ronin's request, I pulled it out and started to paint it up for him.
When I first started painting, I noted that the adhesive where the waist was appeared to be flaking a bit. Thinking that nothing was wrong, I kept on painting it. Right before I got done, however, the mini fell apart in my hands; it came apart at the waist and the left arm.
A few minutes ago, I tried to glue it back together. Not only did I not get a proper fit, but the second my fingers left the mini it fell apart again.
I checked before I glued, and couldn't find any trace of the original glue; otherwise, I'd have scraped it off. I honestly can't think of anything else to do.
Thoughts?

As much as I like the Starslayer mech, the mini was a pain in the royal keister. That being said the best thing to do is to get a set of small drill bits, and a metal rod. Drill into the torso and the hip section about a quarter inch each, then when that is done take the rod and cut a short length that will fit in the 2 drilled sections. Glue them all together and you should be good. It adds a lot of strength to the Starslayer.
In terms of the metal rod you need any hobby shop should have it. I prefer teh Brass tubing, you can cut it with an x-acto blade (put the tubing on a flat surface and with teh sharp egde of the blade, roll the blade and tubing back and fourth it "SHOULD" break after a few times. (I had a lot of trouble with this technique till I added some decent downward pressure). If you dont want to use that you should be able to find some styren rods that are all plastic and can be cut easily not sure how well they will work though and if you can get them small enough to fit a small hole that you are going to be drilling.
Hope that helps.
(not sure how much kit bashing you have done just trying to be thorough)

If you use styrene, be very careful on what type of adhesive you use. Some CA cement would be good but not sure on the metal bonding abilities of it. Check with yoiur local hobby store or hobbyists for info. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

True.
I actually usually use superglue and have very little problems.
