Alexander looks up from his drink, still seated at the bar. "Boy, you sure got a lot to learn about holes around this place. There ain't nuthin down there but Hell and SH*T. That's why I'm signing off on this one. "
He takes a swig off of his beer, wiping his mouth with the back of his scarred hand. "And, no matter how special you think you are when it comes to driving Armour, bud, you come and sit with me for a while, and I'll school ya. Trust me. There ain't much about tanks and APCs, and LAVs especially that I don't know..."
Alexander looks back at his beer, "Dead-Fish is probably enjoying his time down in the hole anyhows. Probably peaceful compared to all the blabbering going on up here. It's almost enough to make a man choke on his beer nuts!"
"Am I getting too old for this?" he asks no one in particular. That's when he gets up, and walks to the door. He walks upto Lurch, and grabs the C-8 Carbine he keeps just outside the bar. "Sorry Lurch, I feel funny with this in here. Guess I'm not too old, huh?"

I don't have a four digit post count, but I've been here almost as long as Mordel's been around... Alexander shakes his head. Boy I'm getting old.

Over in the corner, Saberdance shakes his head and looks around.
"Woe. Right. Yeah, sorry. I nodded off into the real world for a while. So, we're talking about what we're good for, right?"
ooc: I've been doing research for some papers. After a while I just kind of defaulted into open internet explorer, google-search, library-search, check e-mail, read Washington Post. I kind of forgot about this. But I'm back.
"As a FedCom, and a rather old one, I'm a firm believer in cross training and keeping a low profile. As such, I am at least tacitly familiar with most everything a mechwarrior can be expected to meet. Nonetheless, my specialties are in mech-piloting and gunnery. I prefer pistols for their ease in hiding (try hiding an AR-15 under your vest). I'm adequate to lead a scouting mission or to use any type of computer/electronics. I can be a number 2 to any of our mechanics or medics. I'm only reasonably robust and dextrous, but I have a quick mind. Ergo, I pack light and fully plan to improvise."
Saberdance walks over to the bar, checks his weapons and equipment, cinches up his vest, which has moved while he was day-dreaming, and sticks some more food in his ruck-sack. _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

All these Noobs are making me feel old. They just don't know what there getting into here.

OK, now I'm curious. I was just packing a vest because it seems reasonable, and, knowing a little something about Tunnel Rats, I know you can't carry much more than a pistol, and even that only if you're really small (I'm not).
So, what exactly are we up against that I shouldn't worry about bullets?
ooc: after six months I'd like to think I've at least graduated from Noob to scumdirt... _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."
