No, the poll is fine like that. 
I like all of them guns, as long as they're on my mechs instead of someone else's.

lol, Nightmare.
All right then. Every weapon has its place. I like ER PPCs and LB20-Xs most, so I can't really say one or the other type is better. I don't like gauss rifles, but the rest of the weapons come or go depending on the 'Mech. Like Nightmare says, as long as I'm the one doing the shooting, instead of the one getting shot at.

Thats a pretty broad question. Many would say that energy weapons are better with no ammo and better weight damage ratio, but I love the autocannon for some reason.
Better a big "boomer" than a stream of light.

The reason for using autocannons is simple. Low heat.
Of course the many varients bring their own advantages. Ultra ACs improve range and damage for little heat, LB ACs also improve range but add accuracy and crit seeking (with cluster) into the mix.. rotary ACs.... heh heh....
