Where do you fit in the political spectrum? A lot of us think we know, but take this simple test to figure it out.
According to this I am a moderate populist conservative.

I'm not sure that this is the best test around. If you click (right click and open in new window, or it takes you back to the beginnning) the questions, it adds a lot more than their little catch-all phrases say. So they have a single answer which says things that I agree with (move to stop illegal immigration, for example), and things I disagree with (restrict legal immigration).
It would work much better with smaller issues and more questions, like splitting the support of immigration into legal and illegal immigration.

That's the problem with all those tests...answers that don't fit or multiple answers that do...

But that's life, isn't it? Most people can change their opinions, at least for a while.

No, not the same at all...when you take those tests often times you'll get choices that are so vague that they don't fit your beliefs, or so specific that more than one answer applies.

Moderate Conservative.
Gee, they're going to have to revoke my Ultra-Bigoted Christian Right credentials.
Speaking as a Political Scientist with a very firm background in policy analysis (and an OK background in political behavior), tests like these are next to useless. The most accurate scores will be for the most ignorant takers. People who know how policy works understand that policy questions are never matters of perfection. People who know how political behavior works understand that parties necessarily compromise to achieve their ends (and, in theory, the nation's ends).
This is even true in the US, where the vast majority of legislation passes by unanimous consent and without much argument. Take it from me, I worked in the US Capitol Building. In six weeks there was exactly one controversial bill (the Medicare prescription drug benefit).
Quizes like this tend to needlessly polarize people by focussing on the divisive part of the issue.
No one in the US seriously cares about immigration. What they care about is cultural preservation and national security. Immigration is a part of this, but cultural conservatives would be happy to throw open the borders if the people coming in were willing to assimilate. Multi-culturalists would be happy to crack down on illegal immigration if cultural heterodoxy were allowed.
As a policy student, my particular frustration is that most Americans don't understand policy (especcially not interest groups or political parties), which is the reason US policy is so confused. Rather than picking a policy and implementing it, we do a whole bunch of half-way measure which are mutually exclusive with the result we get all the bad stuff and none of the benefits.
Prime example: the last time the Army Corps of Engineers tried to build a dam on the Columbia River. The policies of increased alternative energy production collided with the policies of wildlife preservation. The compromise measure ended with no energy production, and the fish lost their nesting grounds anyway.
ANWR is exactly the same way.
The fight is not actually over immigration. Similar problems with the rest of the questions.
Which returns to my original statement, the only person who will get an accurate test score is the person who doesn't understand the test and marks according to his prejudices. _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

The quiz itself, and posting your answers if you see fit, is OK. Even posting why the quiz got you "right" or "wrong" is OK, and in fact I would encourage that t6ype of post.
But should this get beyond the scope of "entertainment" it will be moved into the Saloon.
We're adults so I don't think there will be an issue.

Of course. I just meant that people might change their opinions to fit the circumstances. There's few who are so set in their ways that you can't sway them at all. But enough of that,
The test claims I'm a moderate liberal.
