NGT-1A Night Wolf
Chassis: Standard
Power Plant: GM 300
Cruising Speed: 32.25
Maximum Speed: 53.75
Jump Jets: McCloud Specials
Jump Capacity: 90 meters
Armor: StarGuard IV with CASE
Armament:
7 Photech 806c Medium Lasers
1 Johnston High Speed ER PPC
1 Federated Autocannon/20
Manufacturer: Achernar BattleMechs
Primary Factory: New Avalon
Communications System: Garret T20C with Guardian ECM Suite
Targeting and Tracking System: Federated Hunter Mark III with Beagle Active Probe
Overview:
The NGT-1A Night Wolf is a relatively new design which Achernar BattleMechs produced in small numbers during the Civil War; it was intended as a testbed for the higher calibers of specialty autocannon ammunition. At first glance, the Night wolf is distinctly second line - it uses mostly older weapons, and has no advanced structure or armor. But this is inaccurate. The old Federated 200mm autocannon can fire the new specialty rounds without difficulty, which is not true of the newer AC types, and the the standard medium lasers provide more damage for less heat than ER lasers. The Night Wolf also uses cutting edge electronics to ensure dependable targetting and communications.
Capabilities:
With its short ranged lasers and autocannon, the Night Wolf is intended for close combat - especially in urban environments. Jump jets help offset the Night Wolf's low speed and increase the pilot's options; they can also be quite a surprise, since jumping assault
'Mechs are still relatively uncommon. To compensate for the bulk of the more effective specialty munitions, the Night Wolf carries seven tons worth of ammunition. Standard procedure equips one ton of standard ammo, with the rest split between armor-piercing and precision rounds. As long as sufficient muntions are available, the Night Wolf's ammo load can be tailored to pilot preference or the needs of the mission, giving the Night Wolf a somewhat Omni-like potential. For long range engagements, the Night Wolf mounts a single ER PPC.
The Night Wolf mounts a Guardian ECM Suite to protect it from advanced targetting
systems and help it enter engagement range without being discovered. The Night Wolf also mounts a Beagle Active Probe; while this is rare for assault class 'Mechs, it frees the Night Wolf to engage at will, without being dependent on lighter, less durable 'Mechs. CASE and nearly 20 tons of armor make the Night Wolf exceptionally tough, and combat experience has proven that it is rare for a Night Wolf to be unable to return for reload under it's own power.
Deployment:
Nearly a dozen Night Wolves served in the FedCom Civil War, and only two of those
were destroyed. The rest acquitted themselves admirably, and Achernar BattleMechs intends to increase production to as high a number as possible.

An impressive design, although I'd like to see a Medium Laser or two traded for a few more Heat Sinks, and I'm always leery about 'mechs that depend on a single system for half of their punch. I remember having my Bushwhacker rendered almost useless by having its AC/10 blown off in Mechwarrior 3.
I give it an overall 89%. Truly exceptional.

dude, 7 medium lasers generate 21 points of heat, he has a heat dissipition of 22, should not be too much of a problem as long the mech does not run.
in MW3 terms, this means that the mech will cool effectively at the speed around 34 km/h, if u only use the 7 medium lasers alone, and wait for them to cycle. Instead of blasting the med lasers, then the erppc and the a/c 20.
as for backup weapons, 7 medium lasers make an impressive backup after the A/C is dry so nothing much to worry about. The ERPPC is also a nice have, for a mech sporting lots of short range weapons.
ECM is a great defensive touch, the probe renders most ambushes useless and of course a 100 tonner thingy flying 90 metres in the air and coming down on something is truely a sight to behold.

This is the big league warhammer.
Post this up on the technical readouts. It should fit just nicely.
Only thing is not to worry about the ammo.

Where's the wolf in that? I'd call it bear, one that's awake too early. Sort of grumpy.
Definitely something to replace the old Urbanmech with. Just don't change the designation of City Defense... Imagine someone blundering into your city loaded for Urbies and meeting the Grumpy Bear!
