But it suffers from too much ammunition.
Its one thing to have a good supply, its quite another to be oversupplied. You're practically asking for a stray shot to give you an ammo crit.
This is true for both its AC/5 and its MGs.
However, its armour is rock solid and might 9a big might) keep it alive..

In retrospect, those are some pretty glaring design flaws.
Here's a (hopefully) better version.
Type/Model: Besieger BES-2D
Tech: Inner Sphere / 3010
Config: Biped BattleMech
Rules: Level 1, Custom design
Mass: 55 tons
Chassis: Chariot Type II Standard
Power Plant: 220 Core Tek Fusion
Walking Speed: 43.2 km/h
Maximum Speed: 64.8 km/h
Jump Jets: None
Jump Capacity: 0 meters
Armor Type: Star Shell Standard
Armament:
4 Hellion Spitfire Medium Lasers
1 Zippo Mark X Anti-Personnel Flamer
1 Armstrong J11 Autocannon/5
Manufacturer: Mountain Wolf BattleMechs
Location: Alpheratz
Communications System: Magestrix Alpha
Targeting & Tracking System: Magestrix Gamma
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
Designed as an inexpensive barrage vehicle, the Besieger is very popular among
poorer governments and mercenary groups.
==Capabilities:==
With its extended ammunition load for the Armstrong J11 Autocannon, the
Besieger can lay down a continuous shower of fire, providing cover for
lancemates, suppressing enemy forces, or destroying enemy emplacements.
The 'mechs short range defenses are composed from a quartet of Hellion
Spitfire Medium Lasers, with a single Zippo Flamer for anti-personnel defense.
==Deployment==
The Besieger has become a favorite among fire support lances. Its huge
ammunition capacity, thick armor and close-in weaponry ensure its survival on
the battlefield, and its low cost and easy mass-production has made it a very
common machine in the periphery.

argh u do not need 60 rounds of ammunition on a 55 ton mech.
I seriously doubt a medium can last 60 turns to expend all the ammo. 2 tons (40 rounds) would have being more acceptable for an extended campaign barrage vehicle.
then u can drop the flamer and try 3 mgs with half a ton ammo or just another flamer so u can set multiple places alight.

Would you like to take the newest model for a test drive?
Type/Model: Besieger BES-5A
Tech: Inner Sphere / 3053
Config: Biped BattleMech
Rules: Level 2, Custom design
Mass: 55 tons
Chassis: Chariot Type II Endo Steel
Power Plant: 220 Core Tek Fusion
Walking Speed: 43.2 km/h
Maximum Speed: 64.8 km/h
Jump Jets: 4 Odin Type II Standard Jump Jets
Jump Capacity: 120 meters
Armor Type: StarGuard CASE Standard
Armament:
2 Hellion Spitfire Medium Lasers
2 Zippo Mark X Anti-Personnel Flamers
1 Mydron Excel 5SG LB 5-X AC
1 Bulldog Large Laser
Manufacturer: Mountain Wolf BattleMechs
Location: Alpheratz
Communications System: Magestrix Alpha
Targeting & Tracking System: Magestrix Gamma
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
Designed as an inexpensive barrage vehicle, the Besieger is very popular among
poorer governments and mercenary groups. The newest version, the 5A, is quite
powerful, despite its' low price tag.
==Capabilities:==
The Besieger's primary power, formerly provided by the Armstrong J11
Autocannon, has been increased with the inclusion of a Mydron Excel 5SG LB-X
Autocannon. Boasting increased accuracy and power, this new weapon allows the
Besieger to engage at even longer ranges than it could before, further
ensuring the 'mechs survival on the battlefield.
To increase mid-range power, the two Hellion Spitfire Medium Lasers mounted in
the torso have been replaced with a single Bulldog Laser, the same kind found
on the popular Bulldog tank.
Close defense is still covered by twin Hellion Spitfire Medium Lasers, one
each mounted in the arms. Point firepower has been altered somewhat, with the
Hessen IX Small Lasers being replaced with a Zippo Flamer.
Maneuverability has been greatly supplemented by the installation of four Odin
Type II Jump Jets, allowing the Besieger to more effectively deploy to
opportune sniping spots and high ground.
The only other significant improvements are to the heat-exchange system, which
has been upgraded with Double Heat Sinks, and to the 'mechs skeleton, which is
now comprised of Endo Steel.
==Deployment==
The Besieger has become a favorite among fire support lances. Its huge
ammunition capacity, thick armor and close-in weaponry ensure its survival on
the battlefield, and its low cost and easy mass-production has made it a very
common machine in the periphery.

I liked the second version. The Level 2 version however seems to have more heat sinks than it really needs.. maybe if that large laser was an ER version...

Only by one heat point. It covers things like moving through fire or engine damage. _________________ Evil is like a bowl of oranges. Only one, instead, is an orange of DOOM. That orange has a fate to rule over the other oranges with an iron fist. That orange is me.

please immortalize the 3rd lvl1 variant into the TRO section.
As for the newest version i found it every nice, but an ER Large will make it even better
nice touch on the JJs too. The Lb-5x is a must and everyone would have a nice day with those cluster shots

Just post it under a different model number.. say BES-2D2 or somthing... and write into your fluff. Its more interesting that way

I actually really liked the the first and second as well. The only thing I would do is switch out the standard ac for a ultra. but that is me.
