Just to be the German smart-a*se: It is Solahma. Be it typo or joke, the ones that don't know it should get to know it by its proper name!
Yeah, 'mechwarriors will be alotted to a Solahma unit by their mid-thirties, unless they have achieved great feats in their life-times. So, I guess anything higher than a Star Captain has a good chance of being front-line for a longer time. Or Mechwarriors Horse and Joanna.
Once Solahma, the warriors will see less action. And then they will stay in their units until too old to fight, probably towards the end of their 60s. Really, that should mean that most Clan militaries would be quite top-heavy, in terms of age, right? Front-line service: 20 or so years. Solahma duty (less dangerous, higher rate of survival): 30 or so years! It's like German society!!
One of the funny moments in one of the Clan novels was Joanna's disbelief, when her unit leader died..... OF OLD AGE!!! She didn't realise that death could be "achieved" without a violent end!
Speaking of Solahma and those Jade Falcon warriors. What did become of Horse? Joanna became a Falconer after being old and losing a leg. But what of Horse? He would be in his, what, mid-40s? And a freeborn. Granted, he had some lines in the remembrance, so, where did that leave him?

Not the youngest, I am 19 as well, just the youngest one who is still allowed to pilot a mech.

I believe that there is a 17 year old running around here somewhere plus I have heard rumours that Daphnes girls have started to show up (scary thought)

Gold fish.....Luckily, The Stallion II has thrust vectoring...turned inside the radius of a large...and I mean large missile....
...'twas a nuke. Ouch.
But, bagged a Leviathan and a few other warships currently being scrounged at our docyards at the Stables...
"Hey where is this planet you stumbled on a while ago?"
Fred points up and to the right
That way, I will let you know once we are back up and running, we're keepin it cloak and dagger for right now.
Motown just kinda nods
Any way, the Leviathan's holds were full of Goldfish in tanks, gave them over to Dr. Raisley so that Team Banzai can research their hearts out.
The Colonel sips at his scotch
...ya...fun

Just as an aside, if you don't want ice in your drink you order it "straight up" or "neat".
