Heres a pair of mediums we all know of:
The Firestarter FS9-0,With a pair of Large lasers, a BAP, 3 foreward firing flamers and one rearward firing flamer, with a top speed of 97 KPH and 6 JumpJets.Has more armor than its opponent.
Opposit of the Firestarter is a Hollander II BZK-F5, with a powerful Gauss Rifle, a Medium laser, and a SSRM2 pack, with a top speed of 86 KPH and no JumpJets.

In a large open field the Hollander might be able to get lucky on this one. I would take the Firestarter 90% of the time. Especially in heavy woods.  Just set everything on fire then jump out and abandon the Hollander to get roasted.

Corporal!!!!! You are now a private. Medium mechs..... you just flunked basic mech recognition and that will get you whacked.
Burn Baby Burn is all I have to say. The old and new verison is one of the best mechs made. This is too lopsided. Maybe Hollander vs Valkyrie or Firestater vs Panther is more intresting.

I like the Firestarter vs panther. That would be a fun match. Long range and mobile vs super heat man and mobile. I like that one.

It's not quite as lopsided as it may seem. The Firestarter packs an XL engine under it's medium mech armor, so it has to be careful. The torso seems to collect a lot of hits. Taking a full salvo from the Hollander may result in a torso location ripped open with some possible engine criticals to follow. 
I'd still pick the Firestarter as winner more often, just because of the better speed and jump jets.
