A simple question: where is this 'mech's cockpit? It becomes more difficult with these designs. I'll post my opinion under each, but, please tell me what you think:
Assassin - tiny cockpit in the "nose" or big glass-top cockpit on top?
- here, just going by the fluff, I would nominate the "nose"
Warhammer - glass top cockpit on top, in the dent at front, or under the dent, basically the next tip, at the front of the torso.
- I would think making it a glass-top would look best. HOWEVER, I really think it is hidden in the dent (ie, in the nook between the two outcrops - there is a small lump hidden in there, which could be it)
Rifleman - center torso glass canopy, or that little hole on top, set back, in the front of the lump which is the base of the radar dish.
- Ok, the majority of painted 'mechs show a center torso canopy. But: the one on top under the radar dish would make more sense, especially since the plastic model, which is a copy of the 1st run metal model, clearly has a head there (which is basically then set back and shrunk for the newer, but still unseen model).
Black Lanner - tiny cockpit in "nose", or huge aircraft-like canopy in torso.
- I really don't know. The artwork is roughly split on this one. I like the canopy idea better, but the model really doesn't have much to go on there.
Blood Kite - CT, just above LL (TRO:3067) or in head (FM:CC)?
- don't own the model. But I really think one needs to go on the original artwork (FM:CC)!
Crab - that is the only 'mech which truly does not have a visible canopy, right?
Tell me what you know or think!

I Am going to say nose for Assassin, Between the two outcrops on Warhammer, on the Rifleman I'll say it's right in the front CT, and on the Black Lanner I'll say the nose going by the pic in the TRO. As for the Crab, well I've 3 pics of it and there is no discernable cockpit. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

Both. It's a two seater 'Mech, I have to finish a lenghty commentary on why it was done that way

You are right, the blueprints and the mini show the location there

The second, under the little antenna, the glass canopy comes from 'Mechwarrior 1st Edition where the artist didn't know better

Thanks, oh great blood-sucking one!
I agree with those assessments - apart from the Assassin!!!
It is explicitly described to have the most cramped cockpit in the TRO. Not one word about dual cockpit in it!
But yeah, good to know that you agree with the Rifleman!
