France has several fine qualities to take into consideration:
Wine
Women who take of their clothes for "art"
The Eifel Tower and cultural attractions
Topless beaches in the south of France
Pasties and desserts
Romance and love

Everyone has an opinion of France. For most people it is bad. I think you are just dodging the question.

If I had an opinion of France, it might be very close to that of Gg...
...but as I have no opinion of France I guess you'll never know.

I agree with Gangrene. I was in France for a month once, They were rude, crude, and the most hostile people I have met, And I have been in the middle east, Those people are hard to beat in the hostile department.
In fact, When I checked out of the hotel in France. The bell boy marked our lungage as "aMERICAAN"
At first I though it was a misspelled. When I pointed out the mistake. He replied "It is spelled fine aMERICAAN!! In a snooty tone of voice.
I took back my tip.

Been there a couple of times, Love the smash sandwiches. Hated the folks attitude, cost and smell. Bathing is still optional there.
Sir henry, loved Majorca.....

"Tonight we honor our French guest with a traditional meal: French Bread,French Toast, French Fries, and to drink....Peru! (Perrier)"
--Loosely quoted from "Better off Dead"
I have to say in High school, I really enjoyed learning the language and the culture. I thought that Paris must be the coolest with all it's great museums, churches, architecture, and ambiance. I have never been there though, so I don't know what it's really like. I've met some very nice French citizens and some not so nice, pretty much like every other peoples that I've met.

You know, nost of the people were actuslly pretty nice to us. I kinda think it was cause we were spending a lot of money there, or something. It also might have been that we were in Southern France, not near Paris.
I am happy to report that getting F-1 gear here is awesome. I bought a BMW hat that would've cost 30 pounds, but we found a BMW dalership 3 blocks from here, and got it for 16 pounds.
Went to Greenwich today. Some cool stuff....like the Prime Meridian line. _________________ Thank you for using ComStar..>We Really Do Hate You!

Paris is a beutiful city. And well worth a vist. Just do not expect much from the people.
Never been out side of Paris. So I cannot say that all French people are jerks. But the ones I have meet are.

I liked Holland much better. I also liked Slovenia better. Hungary too, although Mafia is a very big problem (getting a gun pulled on oneself tends to distort one's view!). I even liked Croatia and Bosnia better!
Alexander (Even the military airbase in Iceland I stopped over at was better, and I wasn't even allowed outside!) _________________ War is God's way of teaching geography.
