The Combine fields the lightest complement of battlemechs among the armies of the Successor States, in large part due to the paucity of production facilities within the Combine. As of 3025 the Combine produced the following battlemechs within it's borders:

Stinger LAM
PNT-9R Panther
DR6-1N Dragon
Grand Dragon
CGR-1A1 Charger
QKD-4D Quickdraw

Plenty of older 'mechs remain in service with Combine regiments, but their numbers decrease yearly, and they have to rely on salvage for replacement parts. The Combine does maintain a small arms trade with the Free Worlds League, allowing it to acquire spare parts for 'mechs produced at League factories, such as Orions, but the costs involved are prohibitive for many units.

Because of this situation, Takashi Kurita has grouped his older, heavier battlemechs into elite regiments, which are held in reserve for major offensives, replacing the old Warhammers, Marauders, Thunderbolts, etc. with Dragons and Quickdraws in his front-line regiments. Fortunately, these two designs compliment one another admirably, and can also share LRM ammunition and replacement medium lasers, easing logistics. They are also both able to outpace the heavier forces of Houses Steiner and Davion, allowing the Dragon's heavy lances to conduct hit-and-fade operations against their opponents. The Stinger LAMs can also be valuable in support of the heavier units, scouting out the enemy's position and keeping the Combine's Dragons and Quickdraws out of harms way.

In situations where a stand-up fight with the enemy is inevitable, the heavy 'mechs can be supplemented with large numbers of Panthers. Even the heaviest Steiner assault lance can be blunted by the concentrated firepower of a company of Panthers. Panthers can also provide fire support for a flanking maneuver by the heavier Dragons and Quickdraws.

Well everything he's said I agree with. The DCMS in 3025 is really limited. It works well in hit and fades and on the attack. Works less well on the defensive or in stand up brawls.

The Panther is probably the single reason no one has scythed through the entire DCMS. Nobody likes light mechs with PPCs.

As for the other designs they are either above average or good.

Also I thought they produced several other Abandontech from the original set. But I could be wrong. Its been awhile since I looked at those books.

Good analysis mud.

Don't forget to add to the mechs produced:
AS7-D Atlas
ARC-2K Archer
ARC-2R Archer
WVR-6K Wolverine
GRF-1N Griffin
PXH-1K Phoenix Hawk
LCT-1V Locust

Lyrans have a hard enough time defending what they have, let alone trying to conquer their neighbors. And the Davions found out how hard it is to take a planet from the Combine when they had to kill 3 million plus civilians as they all took up arms against them and had to confine themselves to their bases to avoid getting killed by mobs.

Other than the Atlas (at Al Nair wasn't it?) It's still pretty light..

According to the Draconis Combine sourcebook, the 'mechs I listed in my original post are the only things they are capable of producing. I think what you're listing comes from 3050, when they changed things a good deal.

I used the Objective Raids book, original 3025 and 3050 TRO's as well as the Original House Kurita book. The mechs I had named were in production up til the clan invasion. Also if you count after the war of 3039 you can add 4 mechs to that list which were gained through the capture of one Davion world.

Panther, Phoenix Hawk, and Archer produced on Satalice. Which went to FRR on their inception and thence to Wolf Clan.

Locust produced on Alshain. Is the only surviving mech line on that planet after the fall to Ghost Bear Clan. I think also produced their was Panther, Dragon, Spider. Not too sure as the referencees aren't clear.

Panther produced on Tok Do.

Griffin and Wolverine produced on Marduk.

Charger produced on Errai.

Atlas produced on Al Na`ir.

Jenner, Dragon, Grand Dragon, and Quickdraw produced on Luthien.

The capture of the planet Quentin during war of 3039 gave the Combine the production of JagerMech, Marauder, Victor, and Atlas.

Any vagaries would be appreciated if they were corrected.

According to TRO 3025 Jenners have been out of production for a long time; the plant was nuked.

After the clan invasion FASA rewrote history and conjured up more 'mech factories out of thin air. When I'm discussing 3025, I stick to the sources published before the universe changed, for this reason.

TRO 3025 and the old Draconis Combine House Book provide the raw material...the analysis is my own.

edit: the mention about Orions comes from the novel "Heir to the Dragon." Theodore Kurita's Orion was refitted with parts purchased from the FWL.

i'm sorry but this just makes no sense to me. If the TRO 3025 Revised says it was still in production then it is still in production. Choosing to ignore it because you do not like how the CREATORS have changed things is like choosing to ignore a rule errata because you prefear the old rule. It is your right but as far as i am concerned your not playing battletech anymore.

I do not have access to TRO 3025 Rev so that question needs to be answered by someone who does. HMPro says that production was halted in 2847 because:

"In 2847, elements of the Davion Heavy Guards, supplied with Jenners painted in Draconis Combine colors, led a lightning strike against Ozawa, gutting the Diplan Mechyards. One year later, an unexplained explosion destroyed the remaining assembly plant on Luthien, and Jenner production ceased."

so according to this it was not in production in 3025. However, your statement was in correct. The plant did exploded, but it dosen't say do to a nuke. It just says "unexplained explosion."

Again as I said, i do not have TRO 3025 Rev which is why I said IF TRO 3025 Rev says it is then it is. It may not.

However, my point still remains just not exampled in this case and really was ment for everyone, not just you Mud.

As for my earlier statements about some 'mechs the Combine couldn't build in 3025 that they could build in objective raids, at least some of those factories did exist in 3025, but only came into Combine possession after the war of '39. I came across this while reviewing material for my post about the Federated Suns. It was the facilities on Quentin and Marduk, if i'm not mistaken.
