Mines the Cauldron Born for its Tanacity and its amazing Durability. Its also a great mech to catch people off guard as its not used as much as it should be, people tend to go for the Loki, Thor or Mad Cat when choosing a heavy. But the C-Born is another worthy choice. Even more so because many do not even know its variants.

The Nova Cat...heavy armor, moderate speed, and an immense payload capacity combine to make this an effective heavy Omni design...
Besides, it also just looks like a walking tank...

It looks tough in comparision to most post 3050 clan heavies and has insane payload space for its tonnage.
and yes, all those gunbarrels look mean.

All right. Cauldron-Born it is, with the Nova Cat a close second. Good firepower (as long as you avoid the bad configs), and good speed. If it weren't for the speed, I'd go Nova Cat easy.

it don't carry ammo, so you can overheat it without risking an ammo explosion...that's better than spending weight on heatsinks that go to another ER PPC instead...redundent energy weapon systems are always nice to have around.

Explanation time: Clan Wolverine / S.L.D.F. uses mostly standard 3025-3050 Equipment that is "upgraded" using Clan Tech. ( Note ALL equipment. IE: Mechs, Aerospace, Armor, ect...)
For the most part the I think the post 3050 stuff is mostly garbage. The reason being is that alltho some designs LOOK different they really aren't much changed from the pre 3050 stuff ( and in some cases worse! )and looks never won any battles. sure they have new tech, but so what? is that new tech really any improvement? and is it really worth using? ( A good example is MRM's. I'll run SSRM's and LRM/swarms against them any day of the week and have a better hit/damage ratio than can be got with the "new" system.)
