The AC/5 just doesnt feel right on this 'mech. You've already got range covered with the PPCs, and that 5 points of damage just doesn't seem worth the tonnage on this assault. How about this:

I'm with Warhammer on the AC/5. Turns it into a support 'Mech, the kind of thing that needs to be protected. (Unless that's its intended purpose...)
But I'm not so sure about the SRMs Warhammer proposes. Then it looks a lot like a small(er) Stormfire. Not a bad thing, but it doesn't seem to be the intent. Personally, I'd try to go for an AC/10, as I prefer the heavier ACs. (except RACs, of course) But I've not quite checked to see if there's a way to do that. I'll look at it a bit more.

I to agree with Warhammer on this but also agree with Starraven on the SRM's. But instead of keeping the machineguns mabey drop them for some thing else.

the mech was actually build more for a general purpose design. The lvl2 variant pulls off the general purpose thing alot more efficiently and yeah, it mounts an LB-10x.
It looks alot like the Stormfire in some areas but it was more of a GI mech than close range oriented.
Edit: Yeah u can drop the MGs and the A/C 5 plus 3 - 4 heatsinks for an A/C 10 with 20 reloads.

How about this, drop one PPC, and keep the other and upgrade the AC/5 to AC/10. Then for added long range fire add an LRM-10. You can make weight by dropping a couple heatsinks.

I like that last version. The AC/10 is always a good weapon to finish out a trifecta of pain. }
Sidenote: I kinda prefer the Medium Lasers in the torso. Most pictures of PPC-equipped 'mechs show the weapons to be so big as to preclude the housing of other weapons in the same arm (Battlemaster, Warhammer, Panther, Griffin, etc), with the clear exception of the Marauder. Plus, in that configuration, you aren't as hampered by the loss of an arm (you'd lose one of your primary weapons, not a primary and a secondary).

Yum. I like this one. Tough and powerful, while still pretty cool running. The AC/10 really gives it an assault 'Mech feel, as opposed to a support 'Mech feel.

True. But with the lasers on the arms, he can point his arms at that Locust behind him and have something to shot besides a PPC suffering from minimum range.

Bingo. Raven hit the spot.
Its annoying enough to have lights at your back as it is. Even worse, if u cant do anything about it since the dude is withnin minimum range. The workhorse med laser will give him something to think about.
