Now I had never heard of this till here recently (saw the article in a Popular science and cant find the online article for it or I would post a link to that). But did you know that there is a 3-D printer system? its amazing with a cad program you creat your 3-d model and tell your printer to make it. It still takes a bit (2 hours + depending on what it is) and when its done you put it in the oven and have a finished product.

The blue ball is pretty neat as well. But unfortunately they are still pretty pricy (up to 50K, but rumor has it HP has announced a unit that will sell for $1000, and materials are still a bit spendy, but considering that 5 years ago the Printers were running from 100 to 500K it wont be to long before we start seeing these in the homes.
But my first thought was. with the right CAD files I could start PRINTING all the mechs I want to play with or with teh right file I could make arms, legs, torsos, ect for kit bashing. It looks like the detail can be done as well judging from some of the examples given.
