Im Daishi person myself. Sure, its not as scary looking (mayby), but can carry more weapons. And their both the same speed. Plus, with an Atlas you know what it carries do pretty much every time, but with a Daishi can be podded to an optimum configuration to take out an Atlas.
Plus the Daishi just looks cool...

Yeah, makes up for the technology imbalance. Duh! Besides, the poll was for whichone you liked, not whichone you thought was better. Duh.

But bragging of being able to kill an assault using two assaults is, well, kind of lame.

Well......... all things being equal ( and I am sure at sometime or another we have all upgraded the Atlas with clan tech just for S & G's) I would take the Atlas any time. The only relatively good config I have ever seen for the Dali is the "widowmaker" Config. and that I would rate a 7 ( on a scale of 1-10 ) the rest are only 4/5's at best. with the tech being equal the atlas would win guesstimate 7 out of 10 times. ( Mine has..... )

But the tech will NEVER be equal. We're comparing Clan vs. Inner Sphere. Clan tech is and always has been superior. So you can never have an Atlas vs. Daishi combat where the "tech" is equal.

Then it's a Clan 'Mech called Atlas. But it still doesn't count as an Atlas, just as a Warhammer IIC isn't a Warhammer.

Of course not. That's why I'm taking three AS-7Ds against one Daishi. Hey, they're less than 30 million total!

Not really chihawk. If I take out an AWS-8Q Awesome using two CGR-1A1 Chargers, then I'm gonna brag til your ears fall off.

Well 2 Atlases are cheaper than the Daishi in terms of C-bills. I played several games tied to C-Bills (not BV) plenty of times and using 2 11 mil+ mechs is alot cheaper than those 25 mil clan Daishis.

But it's a moot comparison. It's not a which is better but a which do you like better. Why do these preference polls always degenerate into a who's munchier debate?

If you do that then everyone should be making fun of the 8Q pilot!

Seeing as neither mech is munchy I don't see that as an issue here...
