I was looking at something in design submissions (one of Warhammer's, I think), and as I was scrolling, I thought I saw "X-Pulse Lasers." I didn't, though; I misread it. Which lead to the thought that no one ever uses X-Pulse lasers.
So? What do you think of them?

I'm not going to pay increased heat for reaching ranges the weapon should reach from the start. Better just to avoid IS pulse lasers and call the clan tech regular and ER versions munchkin BS.

Its not worth the heat output. Small X-Pulse maybe, but why should i be carrying a small pulse laser anyway ?
Large X pulse is definitely not worth it. Its 14 heat for 15 range. Sorry, im not buying that. If it had increased damage, it might have being worth it, otherwise no.

I don't think, that they are so bad. For lighter machines they can be fine.

Forgive me if this sounds rude, but English isn't your primary language, correct?
I only ask because of the added comma in your post...it indicates you don't think and that X-pulse lasers are bad.

now now, Chihawk behave yourself....
His English is better than some of the other posts I have seen from people who claim that English is their native tongue.

Thats why I posted this topic: Dragon stands on his tongue!
(In Czech you must use the comma there)
Otherwise, whenever I think, it results in something very bad, so I don't think at all.

Thinking -is- a bit over rated.
Well, I suppose using X-pulse lasers would also depend on cost. What is the price differential between X-pulse lasers, IS pulse lasers, and Clan pulse lasers?

Clan and IS pulse lasers cost the same for some reason. Apparently the superior manufacturing and rare materials used by clanners aren't that expensive after all.
X-pulse lasers cost less than double their standard versions. Large 275K vs 175K, medium 110K vs 60K, small 31K vs 16K.

Of course they aren't, if you can purchase them from some mercantile, or relocated clan (Diamond sharks or Nova Cats, Wolves-in-Exile, maybe Ghost Bears if they are in some agreeable mood).
