Who else plays this game. Personally I think it kicks ass. Nothing beats assassinating your enemy's Daimyo, and then hitting him with a bunch of ronin.

Funny you should ask. I won a copy of Shogun way back in the late '80s at Totalcon. I was playing a Monk in a AD&D (1st ed) Oriental Adventures game, and I was voted best player. At the awards ceremony I recieved tickets to pick merchandise. Of course I grabbed it! It was worth like 50 bucks and it soooooo fit the flavor of the game I had been voted for.

However, no one in our regular gaming group ever got interested in playing. It sat the box unpunched for many many years. I recently looked for it, and I can't remember if I sold it on eBay or just lost/misplaced it in my last move.

I have a copy of it, but have not played it for a while. I barely can fit BT in my schedule let alone others...

I wish I could play some more. That and Axis and Allies were 2 of my favs from my college days.

I'd play it more, but not many people have time.

It's become a filler game for when people will be hours late, or a regular game isn't on.

Nothing shall with stand the island fortress (castle/fortress on all five provinces on the little islands to the south as a base where you build forces for that all in one assualt on the mainland)!

I always liked the mix of Risk and Axis and Allies tactics. Nothing like marching your army through your neighbors territory and taking half their land in 1 turn.

It is one of my favorite games. It is a great strategy game, and an interesting game to play. I agree, assasinating daimyos is very fun. I also like using large numbers of Arqubusiers and Musketeers to tear apart enemy troops at long range.

I have played it, and I loved it. It is great to just horde up samurai and charge into enemy provinces, killing all in your path. It is also fun to send in Ninjas and kill off daimyos. Great game, it actually got a 9/10 from Gameworld.
