Here is the pod walker that looks like a mech from the 3rd movie, it is seen in the fighting on Wookie Planet C (now if some can supply the name that Chewy calls his planet, they win a cookie)
This is my take, I am working on Inner Sphere version but this one worked well enough with Clan Tech.

I personly think that these things, AT-PT, and AT-STs are better depicted as Protomechs.

Maybe, but since I feel Protomechs are not fully playtested have to many advantage, I will stick with these as mechs. They look like mechs, walk like mechs and the go BOOM like mechs do.
Besides, my group doesn't allow anyone to use Protomechs so it's mute point for me.

LOL. i think your least worry is the protomech if your deploying SW units in a game.

True...we do use SW stuff...one thing happen though, being half asleep since work kicked my butt one day, I didn't notice my buddies fighters seemed to be very familar when they attacked my drop ships...he comes in with a these things and tells me two lg. lasers are firing from this larged winged craft that looks like and hourglass.
About 35 minutes later, I am about ready to choke him when I tell him his TIE fighters are going down, he just grins and says wait tell you meet the folks with psionic powers on the planet. You know I still have to find where I tossed that set of dice I chucked at him...

BTW... i just looked up the stats for the AT-AP and oh boy, no way i high heaven while you make a Protomech version of that thing.
In fact, your version needs some big changing.

Either version works...one can be the direct front line fighter the other can be the support for the former.
