If you believe that you don't know what you are talking about.

It works quite well, as long as I remember to be careful. The System Restore is a really wonderful invention, for example.
But some of the "features" really suck, like the way it builds a picture of your hardware and refuses to work if it changes too much.

Which I think is probably what happened here in my case. That and the hard drive is actually incompatible with the board. But now that my new drive is up and running, I'm gonna try to hook up the old one and see if it can see it now, ensuring that it tries to load from the new drive only.

I'm pretty sure i do. Of course I play for the non-MS team so i can admit i'm biased.
I'll also say that i can't convince you its so and you can't convince me otherwise.

If you truly believe that "WinXP is a moldering pile of j..." then you don't know what you are talking about. If you say that because you're a competitor then that's a different story.

I didn't know you were a Mac person. Whic version of Mac os are you runing? I'm a Windows user and I do cal center tech support for SBC INternet Svcs DSL (Customer Self Install that is). I am above average with XP, since I have 5 pcs in my house running XP home or pro. With SP2 there is not supposed to be any real difference (nodistinction between home or pro). I know a little about Mac, enough to troubleshoot typical issues with SBC DSL installation or connectivity.
As for AlexsxKnight, my fiancee's pc bit the dust last weekend. A 40 gb & 200 gb drive went out. Unable to reformat either. Going to send on Maxtor 200gb for replacement and just bought from Fry's in Houston and new Maxtor 200gb drive for $69.99 (was same price online) and my fiancee is using it as a main drive in his pc.
Talk to you later guys...

Well, theres always the tried and true tactic of 'scrap the bastard and buy a new one'. Pricy and a bit of an extreme maneuver, but it works.
Just out of idle curiosity, what happened to the last guy to call Alexis a wench? Or are they still looking for the remains......

Well I finally heard back from MSI over the weekend. They said that my new mohterboard cannot and will not support my old Seagate hard drive. So I guess I need to wait for the external hard drive case to arrive from Tigerdirect.com to get my data off it.
Thanks for the help everyone.

My Laptop have Suse 8.1 Linux.
My gaming PC has Win98SE.
My kids PC has XP Home.
The last three are in storage...
