Here are my guidelines for WW II tank conversion (I did this for german tanks like Panzerkampfwagen I , II , III, IV , V Panther , VI Tiger I/II , and some others):

Use Level one with few exceptions.
Take the original weight but tanks under 15t have to be upped by 5 or so tons.
Power it only by ICE.
Convert weapoms as follows (I take the german calibers):

7,92 mm MG = MG
2 cm cannon = MotorCannon (my custom weapon, see other topic:
http://mordel.net/barandgrill/viewtopic.php?topic=6536&forum=3&post=68552&5)
3,7 cm cannon = LAC/2 (I know it´s level 3!)
5 cm cannon = LAC/5
7,5 cm cannon = AC/5
8,8 cm cannon = AC/10
12,8 cm cannon = AC/20
15 cm cannon = AC/20 too

For conversion I´ve only taken the caliber of a gun, not it´s typ!
So 7,5 cm KwK (multi purpose cannon) , StuK (short cannon for infantry-support)
and Pak (armor-piercing anti tank gun) are all converted to AC/5´s.

Some of the bigger guns may be replaced by snub-nosed artillery pieces from Maximum tech.

Admittedly I have alway seen the AC's in this way. Never in the machine gun style depicted by the books.

The KwK, StuK and Pak are direkt-fire weapons but I´ve used level 3 artillery cannons and even artillery pieces on some selfpropelled howitzers.
They were based on the same chassis but were only slightly armored and slow, so I could cramp them into the 25t chassis!

Yes! The pictures of the original TRO 3025 showed big bore AC,s (look at the Hunch!) and I´ve always had problems to see them as rapid-fire guns but as guns fiering single shells!

No problem! It´s only my private opinion and I don´t feel "hate" for anybody who likes the rapid-fire thing!

It would require some home rule to use them as direct fire weapons (= ammo that doesn't scatter and attack single unit). I think that these guns resemble normal tank guns much more.

Well I think that both possibilities are officially supported. Small caliber, but rapid firing guns have similar profile to large caliber single-shot-per-turn guns (a bit clumsy description , but I like this type more). Only one thing really matters = damage.

Umm Sorry ddint think it was going to turn into that. I have no qualms with others seeing the weapons in what ever version they want

Just stating that I liked the list and finally saw the sizes for the AC's as I like to see them. (in retrospect I should have just SAID that, I guess)

Trust me a hostile argument is the last thing I want .

This just a touchy subject. Some people just get heated and my warning was to prevent that.

Why? It's a minor subject of fluff in a tabletop game.

But I wanted to use the original (or near original) tonnage! The artillery cannons are much too heavy for that!
(Try to put an artillery cannon on a 10 to 25 t frame!)
