KW1-LH9 Lineholder
Mass: 55 tons
Chassis: Kressly GRF1A-MDX
Power Plant: Core Tek 275
Cruising Speed: 54 kph
Maximum Speed: 86 kph
Jump Jets: none
Jump Capacity: none
Armor: Kressly Stoneskin 30M
Armament:
4 Intek Medium Lasers
2 LongFire LRM 5s
1 Johnson High Speed ER PPC
Manufacturer: Kressly Warworks
Primary Factory: Epsilon Eridani
Communications System: Angst Clear Channel 3
Targeting and Tracking System: RCA Instatrac Mark XII
Overview:
After the failure of the KW1-LH8 which went against every
principal of the original Lineholder, Kressly went back to the
drawing board to re-evaluate its classic. While the LH8 feature
cutting edge House Davion technologies in the form of a Myrdon
Tornado rotary cannon and a Blazefire "Sweetshot" ER large laser and
was impressive on paper, in practise it was a terrible failure. The
mech was much harder to produce and lack the versatilty of the
original and was even less armored even with all the lightened
construction techniques and armor.
In short it was doomed.
Kressly thus doved back to its previous blueprints and decided to
combine all the elements of its original, LH3 and LH8 variants to
produce the "Ultimate" Lineholder.
Capabilities:
One major thing that Kressly Warworks wanted for the "Ultimate"
Lineholder was to be the ease of construction, hence complicated
construction techniques like Endo-Steel and Ferro Fibrous Armor had
to be done away with. Thus the LH9 will be no different from the
original LH2 that walked off their factories almost 5 years ago,
however it retained the LH8 double heatsink upgrade.
The second most important reason for the simplicity of
construction is that since Kressly Warworks has already thrown their
lot in with Prince Victor Davion (secretly). Victor has barely
declared the War 8 months ago and would require machines that can be
bought cheaply yet still reliable and easily maintained until he
amasses his loyalist forces.
As for the weapon upgrades, Kressly retained the tried and true
dual Longfire LRM5s and the quad of Intek medium lasers, however the
left arm "Sweet Shot" Extended Range Large Laser has being removed
and a new Johnson "High Speed" Extended Range PPC which provided a
marked increase in lethality and range over the ERLarge laser. This
was possible due to the use of the double heatsinks which freed up
alot more room in the Lineholder. The LH9 also feature an additional
DHS in the engine to allow the LH9 fire its ERPPC and LRMs while
running, giving it the ability to rain ordance while on the
move.
The mech's protection doesn't disappoint either featuring an
additional ton of armor over the original giving it at least 90%
protection. However, the magic and selling point of the LH9 is that
it is still under 5 million C-bills, a serious boon for any militia
and of course, any cash strapped Victor Davion loyalist in the
Draconis March.
Deployment:
Currently aggressively marketed to most Chaos March Powers in its
LH10 form with only a regular PPC, the LH9 is currently secretly
filling the ranks of the men and women who answered to Victor
Davion's call to oust Katherine Steiner.
But whatever is the end result of the Fedcom Civil War or the general
chaos of the Chaos March , Kressly Warworks is determined to carve
another share in the market for itself once again.

A very nice multi-purpose Medium-Mech!
I don´t like the RAC version! It has 2 RAC/2 (Mordel´s TRO is wrong here!) but imagine it´s usefullness with only 1 ton of ammo for both!!
Yours is a real good upgrade with a good balance of speed, armor, weapons and cost.
Sometimes I think upgrades are made by squeesing lots of high-tech in no matter if it´s usefull or not. Even small changes can make a Mech even more battleworthy!

I Loved the original LH. The second version was ok but was a huge heat hog. This seems much better but the LRMs should be in the torso.
RAC's suck and never should have been on the mech.
This though is great. it was a great design before but now its just plain fearsome.

I see you share the same taste as mine.
It was probably the only 3050 mech that i gave a perfect 5.0

Be honest! Most 3050 Mechs are really mad!
Normal Hunch with 13 DHS and/or 5 shots of ammo, Cicada with XL (yeah!) and UAC/5 (why?) and lots of other rubbish

I must agree with that. TRO 3055 had some strange designs too.

Have you seen the remakes made by Matt Plog? Really nice
Well the conversation gets off topic, let's stop it.

In the 3058 TRO, you mean, right? (lineholder is a 3058 design) How can you say that Duane Loose was probably the best artist they had illustrating for them, He did a majority of the original designs (granted they were taken from a different system) that have been favorites since the 3025 TRO came out.
He did all of the original mechs 3025, the other artist did the aerospace fighters. He did ALL of the 3026 designs and illustrations, and all of the mechs in the 3058 TRO, hell you could argue that he has help to shape the face of Battle tech as much if not more so than even Michael Stackpool.
Sorry for the derail there. Love Duane Loose's work and had to get that out of my system.
As for the Mech up still love it one of my favorites. I was gong to ask if there was a way to get a second ton of ammo in there for the LRM's that way you could give it some special ammo to use as well as regular.
