I just replayed Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (as a Malkavian, of course), and am officially labeling it Coulda Been Great.
The story is excellent, and it uses Half-Life 2's Source engine (so no lack of graphical power there). But the game is plagued by glitches and bugs, and the character animation seems like it belongs in a game from five years ago (think Deus Ex).
Given a few more months of polish, VTMB could have been a real gem among CRPGs. As is, it's simply above-average.
Anyone else have a Coulda Been Great game to mention?

EQ2.
Lets see it was rushed out so it could compete with WOW, needed a lot of polish (lots of broken quests, quests that are level inappropriate and what not) . The made the game overall way to easy and never bothered to address many of the problems with skills, spells, and combat till almost a year into the game (they have been threatening to do these changes now for 5 months, yet still havent.) Armor and clothing are the same model with different skins and colors for every level. ( I have a 30 ranger that I stopped playing in april, at 30 she had the exact same looking armor the only difference was a slight texture and color difference.)
They did do some things right, Housing was fun, and the guest log book was great. combat was ok. The graphics engine is actually to complex, and alot of what was originally promised was scrapped because it was "to hard".

Funny thing is, WoW was a little rushed too... there's still about 5% of the total content not available (several Instances, and the entire southern half of the Silithus zone).

I've complained about it once before: Contract J.A.C.K.
The previous NOLF games had been excelent, and the Jupiter graphics engine is probably in the top five best graphics engines available (I honestly think it's the best, but reasonable people can disagree).
J.A.C.K was a single, continuous running gun battle with none of the jokes, plots, stories, or even strategies that had made NOLF 1 & 2 the best FPS games of their release years. _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

Yeah, I can agree with that. The biggest thing I have noticed though is the EQ2 seems to be actually 8months to a year from being actually ready. And the even bigger problem is the fact that MOST of the problems are being IGNORED. Just so they can get a second adventure pack and the first real expansion for it.
Oh and this is happening really to please the Power Gamers. They all levels up to 50 as fast as possible and then cried about how there was nothing for them to do and they needed to be given something or they were going to leave, ya know the typical bs....
Though some of the numbers from the frist few months of sales for the 2. First month they both sold 200K copies. Second month WoW sold 200K copies EQ2 sold 35K..........
Just something for everyone to think about
