These could be really interesting in a battle group. I have been think that you may see 6 of these 3 or 4 Heavy Cruisers, 2 Battle Cruisers, 2 Missile cruisers and 1 sub as your main attack force, with 2 or 3 Heavy Landing craft and 6 to 8 light landing craft as a reserve unit if needed. I guess I am seeing these as government funded more than separate entities, so not sure if the total cost is that crazy or not. These and the Light landing craft only run 3 and 4 mill each.
Anyway let me know what you think.

==Overview:==
In early 3066 the Federated Suns high command ran into some issues with the
all water worlds in the outer rim. They had a colony of pirates move in and
cause major problems for the planet and the inhabitants of the few colonies
there. It was after a considerable amount of time and money was spent trying
to find the pirates that Davion High command decided to bring back the wet
navy. This design is still on the drawing boards but may be a very useful
design. So far extensive combat simulations have been run in which several
design flaws were found. In the course of the simulation tests these have been fixed in the design and when it gets approved may be moved forward into actual production.
==Capabilities:==
Fast and powerful. That is the best way to describe the New Avalon Fast Attack
Hydrofoil. 3 Standard PPC's and 2 Streak 4's all turret mounted allows the FAH
to move quickly and back up landing craft Battle cruisers and the Heavy
cruisers lending fire support where ever needed.
==Deployment==
The second of the designs to be approved for deployment the FAH is fairly
inexpensive for its weight and abilities. NAN Great White, NAN Tiger Shark,
NAN Mako Shark, NAN Bull Shark are the first off the line with NAN Horned Shark and
NAN Hammerhead expected to be completed in the next few months.

Wow. These hydrofoils are certainly evil. Nothing else that heavy can move 5/8 with a light 'Mech's fusion engine.
I like the armament on this; the PPCs are great, and the Streaks cover the min range well.

I can see a few of this being used for defending blue water areas or a water world.
Its relative fast for its tonnage and that is a good thing !
