WOW! Replace the flamer by 2 MG´s and put all weapons to another place and you´ll have a mech a friend of mine had constructed back in around 1989!

A solid design, if rather unexciting. Nothing to complain about here, that's for sure. I like the level of firepower which is energy based; gives it longevity.

Now that I look again: why put that laser in the leg?

This design is rather solid, but i question House Marik designs boasting PPCs during lvl1 play.

Oh, really?

The AWS-8Q Awesome has its primary factory on Savannah, which is a FWL planet. As we all know, it has THREE PPCs. Kreuss's to be specific, just like this 'mech.

Let me clarify then: What feeling are you trying to evoke with this machine. You have posted a big plop of numbers, and that is all well and good, and some if it is actually impressive, but there are a lot of impressive mechs out there, so what are you going to tell me about this machine to seperate it from the pack and make it special?

In other words: Fluff!

Primary factory that produces Awesome, but which variant? Two of four don't have PPCs at all and third has only one. (random table shows 8Q, but this may be just remains from time when FWL had capacity to build them).

Good call...this one needs fluff.

Even if it's just a short write up about what it has etc...something would help as you said explain why and how for about the mech beyond the numbers.

I'm trying to evoke the feeling of a tank (to use MMO parlance), along the lines of the Thunderbolt and Orion. 'Mechs that stand at the forefront of the battle, dealing out damage and being too much of a threat to ignore in favor of the (possibly weaker) lancemates.

After the ravaging of the Succession Wars, the Inner Sphere had been thrown down into the dark ages. Technology was rare and hardly as powerful as it once was. In the past entire cities could be wiped out from the single blast of a powerful warships weapons. Today, cities are fought for block by block, door by door, and BattleMech by BattleMech.

This attrition has had its toll. Today powerful BattleMechs are rare. The type of BattleMech that causes everyone on the field to sit up and take notice. The AMNI-4J Armaneti was designed to fill this gap.

=== CAPABILITIES ===
The most important aspect that the Armaneti was attempting to capture was raw control of the BattleField. This cannot be accomplished unless the machine was able to strike out and cause damage at all ranges. This, of course, is not easy. Especially with the technological limitations the designers found themselves under. Every part had to be something that was either: A) locally produced and controled or B) easily salvagable.

The designers put forth a machine that has actually met all of these requirements.

The weapons package of the Armaneti has been designed to push the limits. Although many mechs might boast a PPC, LRM, SRM, and Medium laser mix, none do so with the style, grace, and survivability of the Armaneti. She can threaten an enemy BattleMech at all ranges with enough force to be a serious opponent on the battlefield, both strategically and tactically.

The PPC/LRM combination combines long range fire power, consistent damage profile, and heat management into one very useful package. A Marauder or Warhammer might deal out more damage, but not nearly as long as the Armaneti will be able too. Therefore, the Armaneti actually has a larger damage portfolio: it can consistently fire longer, and consistently do damage, even as shifting ranges.

When things get close in and hot, from PPC/LRM the Armaneti switches to Medium lasers and a powerful SRM system. After blasting holes through an enemies armor, the SRM seeks them out, destroying equipment and weaking the internal structure of the machine. Such a deadly combination is extremely successful and has led to this machine not being able to be ignored.

Finally the inclusion of the flamer rounds out this weapons package nicely. Able to be used to set fires to smoke out the enemy, or in an anti-infantry role, the flamer has plenty of useful applications.

A smart commander with even one Armaneti has a powrful unit at his command, and if applied properly, one that will guarantee victory.

=== DEPLOYMENT ===
Currently the Armaneti is only deployed within the Free Worlds League, but that might change over time.

Really nice fluff, well done and adds character to the mech and makes it feel to be part of the universe.

I wish that TPTB would go back and write the fluff for the mechs like it was done in the Original TRO3025. The fluff in there had more depth and feeling and made you picture the universe a lot better.
