------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
Needing a simple and effective VTOL for hit and run as well as stand up
combat, the MacDougel Aerospace Corp. didn't really do much origianl thinking
they simply re-invented the wheel. They took the anicent 20th Century Apache
attack helicopter and upgraded it from the ground up.
Using off the shelf technology and weapons they managed to turn out a very
usabel VTOL in a manner of three months and in doing so put them back in
business since sales of the abpt named Neo-Apache has more then doubled since
it saw action on Weaver against the 23rd Recon Guards of the Karagin army. The
gun camera footage of several vaunted Karagin Ground Hawk medium grav tanks
burning after being pounced on by a lance of Neo-Apaches has been the primary
cause of this as well as testimony from several of crews who fought off the
Karagin raiders.
Overal the Neo-Apache is pricey but it has the protection to dishout and take
damage so that is countered to some degree. MacDougle is expecting even
briskers sales to Co-Alliance and other allied powers as they prepare for the
up comming counter attack to push the Karagin out of Vondar territory and
hopefully make a incurission into Karagin space to take a few worlds as pay
back.

Nice! I personally love VTOLS. And this is a dangerous one.
Looks alot like the Apache I designed a while ago and debuted in the Simian invasion.

Very nice. Excellent weapons load. Enough to overlook the XL engine. You've gotta love Streaks, and the three med lasers work well on many a fusion engined vehicle.
I seem to recall that you're not a fan of the vehicle rules, Karagin. Do you guys use different vehicle rules in conjunction with this?

The only other rules we use for VTOLs are pop up attacks, simply they can hover behind a hill or building spend a couple of movement points to pop up and fire then with a pilot skill roll they can quickly duck back down. Catch is there is a +3 for this kind of attack added to all the To hit rolls.
My group does have what we call a CORE for vehicles it's like IS but adds another level of protection to the vehicles. In a nut shell the CORE is 5 point defense for the most part that let's the vehicle live a little longer. Added to that for ground vehicles we use a conjuntion of MaxTech rules and home rules for the hits and such. But we do keep the 2 point rotors so VTOLs have their built in weak spot.
