as with all good things, they get better. the Elemental MK2 is just such a thing. with the advancement of Inner Sphere BA and redevelopment of tactics that render the Elemental MK1 obsolete. the clans started searching for a replacement. this is one such design:

Elemental MK2
Move: 2 Jump
Armor: 18
Weapons:
1 Small Arms Vibro-Bayonet
2 St Srm 2 OS missile launchers.
1 variable arm mounted weapon.
Special: Anti-mech, Mech Transportable

Standard Arm Mounts:
a] 1 True Mech Machine Gun w/50 bursts
b] 1 True Mech Flamer
c] 1 Heavy Small Laser

I would rather have it keep the speed and if possible gain a little armor.

well actually...... what i wanted was 3mp jumping. but i decided not to to please the balance mongers. as every other BA that big only has a max of 2mp jumping.

the design is based on the MW:DA Clan BA. which imnho is just kick ass looking.

so how bout this:

Elemental MK2
move: 3 jump
armor: 15
special: anti-mech, mech transportable
weapon:
1 AP Vibro-Bayonet
2 St SRM 2 OS
1 mount

mounts:
a] Heavy Mech MG w/50 bursts
b] 2 Flamer
c] Heavy ML

basicly the mount is 1 ton pod space.

That would be a wicked BTech unit. Only an AC 20, Heavy Gauss or Heavy Large Laser would kill a single trooper outright.

Maybe 14 armor points would be more consistent and not so overpowering, that way it can take double hits from clan medium lasers. I would probably also make a rule that this unit has a little more trouble swarming since it has the extra armor.

a +1 to-hit on swarm attacks.

as for the armor, i'm matching that to the Kanzuchie or what ever it is. able to take an ERPPC and keep coming.

This might seem a dumb question, but does the design have the Heat Sinks necessary for using that Heavy Laser? I know from building a Clan Assault Armor that those things can be difficult to cool.

All in all, a very good desgin, keep up the good work. ^_^

thats were the time defference comes in. like i said, this is my conversion of the Clan BA of MW:DA.

so giving abit of an advancement in Infantry Suit Cooling Systems. which i personly see as more then possible, in MW:DA. reason being that while mechs may have been scalled down, and vehicles the same. i can see every faction up grading BA research to improve the garrisonal infantry that they feild.

and seen as theres no 'offical' ba design system, and most are simple 'oh thats cool n seems balanced' i simply did the same. and remember ba are not mechs, most of the heat of the laser problly desperses directly into the air off the cannon.
