I'm reading through this book (yes, finally!) and sometimes I found funy, or somewhat strange things lying around. From failed attempt to capture Dr. Rick Raisley, through stellar performance from many hated mechs to final armament decision for SNK-1V (that really gave me good laugh). And some really stupid things like that Raijin was too ammo-dependent, or Spartha S7 battlemech fluff that states that it's armored with reflective armor (double damage from physical attacks) and armed with sword (at least it's stats show normal armor, but that my be just typo ...).
I would like to hear your opinions on that book.

Personally, I thought it was very realistic.
Dr. Raisley has been to Prague, after all. An /incredible/ city!

Over all it was a decent book, but some of the variants and such for these mechs well left a lot to be desired, also they could have kept a lot of the original fluff for the mechs and added in the new stuff, not just ditching the old where it suited them.
Some of the art, well it shows Plog's strong point for his style of drawing, taking someone's work and redoing it into some thing close but not quite the same.
Some of the Project Phoniex mechs well they could have been done better as could their fluff and all that went with the originally.
The Solaris 7 stuff...here things went werid as far as mechs went, but they weren't to bad. Nice to see a lot of the level 3 stuff used but it would have been nice to see rules for the new stuff added or at least a big warning that you need the Solaris 7 mappack to get the rules for the stuff.
Over all a decent book that need a few things more but it was worth the price tag.

Well there were some strong points and some weaker, but I don't regret the money invested.
Oh there is warning concerning S7 stuff, just small one - p. 4, Game Notes

In 3067 or these days?
Well, I just hope you enjoyed it. I'm there five days every week

A few years ago. I enjoyed it immensely. Prague has to be one of the most beautiful cities there is.

Normally I do not care much about most of the revised items, but I found the '55 Upgrade to actually be fairly good.
I counted up a good 119 new mech variants and 12 fighter variants total in the book. Needless to say I then went and worked them into HMP soon after.
I should have them all listed on my Master Lists soon too. Although I wonder if anyone ever actually looks at those aside from myself.
And I have to say, some of those new variants are HIGHLY nasty. It looks like they finally had someone smart designing them.
Although, granted, some are really just minor upgrades on the original designs. I.E., swap Single HS to Doubles, Medium lasers for ERs, etc.

Well, I'm soon to be running the CBTList website... I'll put the new copies up there. I believe you contributed them to the old site, neh?

15 February 2003 - Massive update - Hundreds of Vehicles, AeroFighters, Battle Armor, and ProtoMechs, all thanks to Shadowking, who independantly wrote all the data up and shared them with the CBT List project. In addition to this the new record sheets book should be out soon, so we will update with the new mechs from that in the coming months.

Yes, that was me who contributed all that info before. I had given newer versions to Peter, but I don't think he ever used them. My lists are kept in text format so you're on your own as far as the Excell lists go.
I have copies of my lists up on the crappy little webpage that I have listed in my profile. I generally try to update them whenever something new comes around. Of course, right now all those new '55 mechs are from the TRO since there's no RS currently, so most of them are just guess work, but I'd like to they're as accurate as possible.
I keep thinking I should have just accepted Dave's offer to take it over when he offered it over to me originally. Likely would have made things easier, but ah well.

I just figured I would note that I finally have my lists updated with all the new units from the TRO on my crappy little webpage now.
