I remember that, it actually may be one of things that started it. Bad jump and than combat drop (in one week). I received some special training for field officers, but thanks to some miscalculation I was released too soon. This in combination with limited fuel for landing thrusters (you know, Dragon is not at home in the air) almost killed me. When I landed I cursed everything and everyone. I thank my ancestors and everything involved that I wasn't forced to use universal battle suit.

Are you refering to yourself in a mech? I basically jumped out of a dropship with a thick layer of ablative plating above my standard Ballistic Plate.
It was fun, but it made me rather dizzy, we were on some
windy hellhole...and the Gees you pull from activating a jetpack when your going roughly 300 m/s is NOT pleasant.

OOC- Yes, the Bar n Grill is an RP section of the forum. You are allowed to do things abnormal and contrary to Cannon BT within reason.

Yes, but as Vagabond said within reason. If you read the sticky that is the first post in this forum you will see the rules for such things.
Mostly:
Limit your use of technologies not available in the BT universe.
This of course assumes all modern technology like computers and toaster ovens would have more advanced counterparts. But means that things like tanks driving up walls (*bonks parafighter for that bit o' silliness*) is out, though it can jump if it wants since there are BT rules for that
Mostly, just have fun, interact with your fellow members and stay in character.

"Well, if'n it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Chuckles to himself at the persieved uncomfortablness to the clanners at all the contractions in one sentence.
"I wouldn't mind some double heatsinks on a few of my guys. But who wants their mech to look like a trailer park mech? Those things are 3 times as big as normal ones. If I wanted air-conditioning units sticking out all over I woulda gone over to Sol-Mart and got some."
Shakes his head at the absurdity.
-edit- spelling, it's early.

One of our unit's pilots tried to step on one. The crew panicked and tried to jump. After that memorable event he never tried to step on anything that resembles hovercraft again

Kangas are rather interesting, with the jjs and all. I once fired a missile up one of those jump tubes as it flew by me...I was treated to a lopsided hovercraft with a new fuel leak flopping into some rubble before finally stopping...
Needless to say, it was disabled.

"I am curious as to where you are all finding these Kanga's? I saw a pic of one in a military museum once. Last I heard they had all been destroyed long time ago in a galaxy far far away."
Shakes his head muttering about kids that drink too much.

They just need to start distinguishing between sim battles and the real thing
Though when I was on Terra last before the wobblies took over Comstar had a few in good working order...
