WizKidz has gone to far now. They turned my boyhood love, My favorite habit, My exellent pastime.....NAH America's second favorite pastime...Into their cheap,none thinking,make a quick buck, clicky-tech Game
That's right, I was in the gaming store yesterday. And to my shock I saw Mavel Super Heros Collectable Click Base game. MARVEL!!! In click-tech. I cried.
I got to look at some of the minis. PHEW!! Take about cheap. YUCK!!
This only deepens my distaste for the company. That is obiuosly is only out to make a cheap,quick buck. And to hell with tradition and value, (OK, maybe the last part was a little harsh. But I am really UPSET by this)
How could Stan Lee let this happen? (Aside the fact he no longer has any control of the corperation.)HOW,HOW,HOW,HOW.

Hmmm...2 franchises both made into lame collectible clicky games. Does anyone think Battleclick will be any good?

Saw them, and checked the game, when he oppened a box to do instore demos... essencially the same engine as MK... it will be changed a tad for the Mecha game, just as it was for this. Now that said, here is what concerns my retailer...
The preview models looked far better in the paint department than the final production. Some of the casting is ok (Incredible Hulk is pretty good) others are pretty bad... but the paint job is usually pretty bad.
So from his point of view, since he has the preview models for MW DA (They are better painted than most people seem to manage), that they will not be that good. That is his concern, and I share it.

Has anyone played the game yet? I'm wondering how the game plays out. I just bought a starter and four boosters. I think the minis are pretty good quality. As good as the marvel and DC metal minis I have already. Some are going to get a paint touch up though.
I was thinking of using this combat system as a supplement to the Marvel Super Heroes RPG. Still using modules and campaigns but using this as the combat system. Not that I have a group going....yet.
There arn't alot of hero/villains available yet, but I'm sure they're coming soon. I know the DC expansion is coming out in the fall. I have a ton of minis that I could glue to some extra bases if I can get some similar heroes cheap. I also have to get the two foot tall Galactus toy I gave to my nephew, and design a click base for him...heh heh.
I'm also going through all my MSH RPG stuff to find all the cool indoor and Manhattan Maps to fight on! So far the toughest hero I have is an experienced Hulk, but I think my Veteran Hercules could go toe to toe. Best figure though is the Black Panther, by far my favorite hero of all time!
