Since last May I've been running a BT/MW campaign, I started it off in 3027 just prior to the 4th war to give my players some time to get used to the universe before I flung them headlong into the chaos of a sphere-wide war and here are the results of the 4th SW thanks to my players:
3027:
4th SW begins in sept when Liao units chase a "rogue" merc unit in Davion Space. (said merc unit consisted of my players, I hinted that they should've run for the Periphery but they didn't pick up on it)
CC makes first move launching an all out invasion of the FS, most Davion units were still prepping for the invasion of the CC and were largly caught with the pants down.
3028:
the CC invasion slowly grinds to a hault and by the end of the year all FS losses have been regained, FWL sends forces to aid the CC along the FS front and begins invasion of LC. DC bides time.
3029:
with the FS front fairly static FWL invades the LC but are rapidly driven back across the border, LC holds status Quo along FWL front freeing up more material for the FS. DC invades the FS directly for New Avalon. CC begins to gain ground against FS.
3030:
LC makes feigned attack on DC planting a number of mercinary units within the old Principality of Rasalhague, later in the year these merc units would incite a rebellion within the area of the old principality. LC invades DC.
3031:
DC gains reversed, FS-DC border Status Quo, FS returns it's attention to CC, CC loses ground. Princapality of Rasalhague formed, LC-RP defense treaty signed, LC forces move to reinforce FS-DC border.
3032:
FS launches operation hangman, 2/3rds of CC over-run by FS, Maximilian Liao killed, CC dissolves. 4th SW ends (and my campaign along with it)
Long story short my players saw some pretty heavy action and a LOT of them had several characters killed but they generally enjoyed the game, I'm starting another campaign set in the same timeline but advancing it to 3058 and going into operation bulldog bu I would like so thoughts on how the clan invasion would affect this changed sphere?
Here is what the IS looks like post 4th SW:
CC: Gone replaced with St. Ives Compact (effectivly part of the FS)
FWL: Status Quo
DC: Status Quo
FC: roughly the same as post 4th SW canon
FRR: different name, same area, Principality of Rasalhague (effectivly part of the LC)

very nice idea for a scenario, it would be nice to see the results of your laboured battles by hearing you've caused the collapse of the CC!
As for the clan part of it, i believe it would be easier to set it at the start of the clan invasion itself. And several key thngs would have changed
Firstly, the Fed Suns, after expending alot of energy into crushing the CC, would be almost crippled herself, and would be in a poorer situation to support the Lyran's. Therefore the lyran's would be in a much worse position. The Kuritans would probobly still hold out much the same, while the Lyrans would be streched further by their former rasalhague holdings.
Also, without the Capellans, House Marik would be in a much worse position with the Fedcom surrounding it completely, and would probobly be strengthened against the threat of a common enemy. Allowing a much larger buildup of forces and an increase in strength. Also, this might make Bulldog almost completely Kuritan and Davion (maybe more of the comguards?) Who might not have taken so many casualties due to the Stronger Kuritan position.
All in all its quite a difficult plot line to try and expand on. Although with the FedCom head turned away i would expect an attempted revolt by the former CC.
Hope this helps even if a bit thin!

An alternative to alternative history? Sounds good!
I´ve mastered a RPG in wich the characters are part of an successful Andurian-Canopian invasion of the CC!

Have you played it yet? How did it work out? I rather like these RPG style campaigns, but really havent got the time to develop them enough before my next game.

I know the question wasn't directed at me but I'm using the Rifts system as a base for my Mechwarrior campaign as it is a lot more streamlined (though I've kept the Life Paths from MW 3E in place as part of character creation) If you'll help me with my campaign setting I'll be happy to send you my notes for different scenarios for I'll be running.

We begun to play it back in (i think) 1993/4.
My players group disintegrated in 1995 so we didn´t get far!
My players were stationed on Sadurni in Andurien space and we played out the initial attacks on Shiba and Sigma Mare! That was really fun! (BTW it was a RPG!) I used real townmaps glued on cork so i was able to use pins to show the position of each unit!
I was preparing the attack on the heavy industrialized world of Betelgeuse as our clique broke up!
