Even if you had the power to make a star go nova you'd only destroy part of the local solar system. Which is unfortunate. One would have to sterilize the planets with orbital bombardment, something that could prove costly in the psych department. Clanners look human, after all, and most real humans find it hard to kill something in cold blood when that something looks like themself.

Time for my 2 cents. Personally I think any level 1 mech with 2 PPC's...yes, the PPC is a frightning weapon...but fire both at the same time and your pilot starts to cook.

An ongoing joke with my squad was to have the engineers modify our eject buttons with a Send Help button. The button ejects the pilot, however, it also self detonates the Mech. Unfortunately some of the training mech's were also retro-fitted. I think I h

Not in well designed mech. Most lvl 1 PPC boats are designed to fire both only once every other round like MAD-3R. 16 HS, 2 PPCs and AC/5 (lasers are self defense). So...
Round 1: 2 PPCs...+4 heat
Round 2: PPC and AC...-5 heat (maybe -4 if you need to adjust position)
repeat until (death of the enemy);
Movement speed suffers, but still you can cause some harm.

| The Awesome is another exception to that, It can fire all 3 PPCs every other round, and fire two every round with heat to spare.
