Yeah, and don't forget yours truly. In my off time from being "The Colonel" and running my Blighted Sun all over the place I work here part time as a handyman and janitor. I don't mind cleaning up accidents, but you break something on purpose or make a mess on purpose and you'll quickly find a broom placed in your hand by Alexis or myself. Assuming Lurch hasn't tossed you out the door for it heh.
As for Merc's becoming "political", almost ALL of them are. Hell, even my unit is. We will only fight the clans, and then only if they were being aggressive. Now, this may seem odd for a Merc unit, but its the way we believe, and we see plenty of action. Whenever we're not under contract as such, then we take a garrison on a clan border that we rotate a battalion at a time through. It works, keeps us paid... not that I worry too much about that. Being independently wealthy has its perks. I'm co-owner of Shrike Heavy Industries, I own 40% of the company. So, in theory, I also have a second merc unit at my disposal. The 2 regiment in size Shrike's Talons. But I doubt I'll ever need to call upon them heh.

(A grease and grime covered man wanders into the bar wearing ripped, torn, greasy and grime covered mechanics overalls.)
Beer please. And two kegs to go.
(Looks around the bar)
What? Is there a dress code or something? My unit is back from 8 months of raiding WOB supply lines. We are overhauling every surviving 'Mech and vehicle that survived. All hands working long shifts. Even for me, the unit CO. _________________ Incoming fire has the right of way.

*A small smile creeps into the edges of his mouth, as if trying to supress a laugh*
"Sounds like you've got your hands full there. My tech is sitting in our bay waiting for the specs of my mech to pass through Mordel's system so we can get approved for repairs. He's not doing anything until the approval so if you need the extra hand, look him up. I'm sure he's itching from the boredom."
*Syllyrya pulls a small notepad from his bicep pocket and jots down a couple lines, then holds the paper out*
"He's a bit eccentric but so long as you yell at him when he gets off task he's a great tech... Not to mention he's also slated for overtime pay that ended up getting denied. This way I can not feel bad for paying him while sitting on his hands." _________________ I am disappointed only in your failure to disappoint me.

Hmmm...I have knowledge of my mech's inner workings but I cannot approach the skill of a tech. It is my job to fight, not fix. My tech is a former Inner Sphere warrior who I have claimed as a bondsman.

Thanks for the info Syllyrya, I'll look into it. We pay standard rates. The problem is all of my units surviving 'Mechs and vehicles took a beating...well, those that survived. We came out well monetarily and salvage wise, but the loss of a third of our troops and half our equipment hurts. Everything we have left has been riden hard. We are not just overhauling, we are upgrading as well. Most of what survived was older tech with minor upgrades. That's the real headache. Come to think of it, make that four kegs of beer. Anyone know where I can scrounge up the fixings for a barbeque for two short battalions, one 'Mech, one armor?

Well then I don't suggest taking Eli. He's got a penchant for trying 'new' things with his upgrades. Sometimes they work but others...well...disasterous would be much more appropriate a definition. _________________ I am disappointed only in your failure to disappoint me.

Ohhhhhh Kay!
'Nuff said.
I'll just sit quietly over here drinking my beer, checking on the status of replacement personnel and equipment.
By the way, anyone want a mostly repairavle Vanquisher? I have the remains of three that can probably be used to make one functional one.

May I help with that tech work? I can deal with oldtech and I also learned something about ER weapons (Yes, I need some money, Legion of Vega doesn't belong to the best paid units of the Combine).

I don't know about that offer Sleeping Dragon. My unit has a lot of old tech, and a lot of old mercs that do not fondly remember the old "Death to Mercenaries" period. Lots of family lost, lots of history that some do not quickly forget. But I will consider it and talk to my Master Techs Twitch and Noodles. There word is law on this. _________________ Incoming fire has the right of way.

"So, I'm guessing that pretty much EVERYBODY has a stake in this place. That must be why everyone is getting along so fabulously." Syllyrya says. The tone of his voice thick with that 'fatherly displeased' tenor.
"I think that these arguments are fairly pointless so long as the place stays nice. I don't see any mecha in here so I think that it should stay that way. There is no reason to play 'my gyro is bigger than yours'."
He looks longingly at the crushed cigarette.
muttering *I've gotta see if Mordel will let me put in a smoking section*
"So, I'm looking to put together a defensive unit to protect a small mining operation I've got. Anybody here able to play nice enough with others long enough for a three week tour? Your take is seventy five percent salvage and a cushy forty-five 'K' c-bill payday."
He looks around with that all encompassing stare of 'sizing up' that he was using when he swept up the floor. Something about the small curl of a smile on his face leads the perceptive people around to believe that this 'deal' may have more to it than his simple description.
OOC * gonna make an rp scenario on another thread for anyone interested. Heavy storyline, I'll post 5 times a week for scenario updates. This will solely be a role-play scene-game. pm me if you are interested.

As far as I know, the only stake I have here is to occasionally buy beer.
And don't ask for steak here. Whatever has been quarantined in the kitchen might not like that. _________________ Incoming fire has the right of way.

I've been working here quite awhile now
And I've been the "handyman" since I had to fix the heads not all that long ago
As for the janitorial... I clean up after the normal daily things... not your food fights and such. Alexis wants you guys to do that yourselves, and I have a feeling if I did it for you she'd toss ME instead of you. Sorry, but I don't care to go half a round with her heh. I'd rumble with Lurch first... and I'd be crappin my pants the whole time
