The tormentor is Ground Zero Technologies entry into the Heavy weight mech class. It tips the scales at 75 tons of trouble. Designed Towards the end of the fourth succession war, the Tormenter was created to help waning profits as the market for their specialized mech parts and weapons had declined. The design team was not able to make use of previously available Star League technology such as endosteel, double heatsinks, or extralight engines.Even so, their mech is a fearsome addition to the GZT line up.
Capabilities:
Designed to slug it out with the big boys (heavy and lighter assaultmechs), the Tormenter seems acapable. It's LRM 15 rack and 16 reloads give the mech long range punch. At the very least it will keep the enemies attention while the pilot closes to large laser range. The lasers give the mech a respectable damage profile at short and medium ranges with the two flamers keeping curious infantry at bay. One of the Medium lasers is directed to the rear of the mech to discourage any back stabbing on the battlefield. There are 19 standard heatsinks to help with the immense heat the weapons can create, and 13 and a half tons of standard armor make sure the it can soak up some damage before having to break off the hostilities.
Deployment:
About two dozen mechs were completed and sold before GZT's production plant came under attack from pirates. The plant itself survived failrly intact, but the facilities and production line for the Tormenter took the brunt of the attack, and had to be dismantled. Recently, the luine has been rebuilt, and production has restarted, to provide a lower cost sturdy heavy mech to a worl or overly expensive specialty machines. Most ordes and inquiries have come from border worlds, mercenaries, and lower nobles trying to fill out their personal armies.

Dang. I pulled up this one, and posted it. Then as I was looking back over the post, I realized" It's a 75 ton Thunderbolt" Gees, I hate it when that happens
