A sniper weapon is a weapon that has a long range and can at some level cause the enemy to react to it.
An AC/2 is not a snpier weapon because any mech pilot with an ounce of sense will ignore it and kill the silly thing that is tickling it long range.
If my armor has 30 points, it takes 15 rounds for an AC/2 to penetrate. Yawn....

Gause Rifle. That's a sniper weapon. Or a rail gun. Some of the artillery pieces could qualify.
AC/2. That's a projectile range finder.

Toss the LRMs. Replace them with Streak LRMs. Or thow in a TC somewhere.
Or just keep them and have your pilot learn how to friggin' aim.

Sorry Streak LRMs are clan only and level 3.
I am surprised no one mentioned ERPPC though.
