The V D was an early version of the Panther without a front MG. It was a formidable tank with a very long barrelled 7,5 cm gun and optimal armor.
But it was rushed into production much too soon and so the faulty transmission system wasn't recognized until after the production of a lot of tanks. After some proper evaluating before serial production the fault could have been corrected but as it went the Panther wasn't the best german tank but a desaster!

I like them. They do capture the feel of the originals and at the same time give that chance to catch someone off balance.
